All buildings have been made. Just need painting.

First of 12 push rods for the points is installed.

Chocolate brown (Western Region) curtain purchased to hide the rubbish under the layout.

Class 47 knocked off the layout....bogie repaired and loco works.

Looking forward to a weekend with The Duck at the Retford show.

I have even been on the Highway Code website for some traffic signs for the bridge holding up the bus.

That's Optimistic........................  :shout:

Blimey, am I to be the 'Glamourous Arseisstant'? I shall need to source a new Leotard.

Careful there, putting such images in peoples minds at this time of the evening. It isn’t the watershed yet!

All 12 push rods are in place, still need to cut the actuators down to rail level and sort out the handle thingies.

Progress so far,

The bridge is only wide enough for one lane of traffic so I was going to add these signs to each end, but my printer has run out of coloured ink.

Hi Andy

It is not green period, it is blue with D numbers, circa 1970. The Warbouys report recommended changing the road signs in 1963, they started to be changed from 1965.

I am about to sort out the duck skewers, and try and make them into discrete little handle thingies.

I have got on better than I thought I would today, I have done the basic painting of the buildings. So tommora I will be sorting out the other little details like the population for the layout, all scracthbuilt, and other little bits and bobs.

Still a head of the planned schedule, all locos out their boxes and into traveling boxes, five locos to a box. When it is their turn to run on the layout they will be taken out the box. When they return to the fiddle yard they will be put back in their place in the box. Hopefully this will save packing up time. I have glued all the figures and other bits and bobs on the layout. The curtain looks good. I have found a ACE Regent V in Oxford bus livery so the location of Pig Lane has moved to the boarder of Berkshire and Oxfordshire, which means I/we will be alternating the buses, Thames Valley FLF and the Regent, or both or none, I have bunged in some typical cars from the period as well. The layout needs general weathering and toning down but the progress made in the past few days has exceeded my own expectations.

I am going to test all the locos and multiple units tonight and you may be lucky and see some preview photos. If our lineside photographer remembers to buy some film while he is chatting to the lady in boots.

What a fine job the Yellow Belly Morty has done. Nowt like a show deadline is there dear boy. I am looking forward topretending to know which vehicles are which and otherwise being a tea duck. What I am hoping is that there are more people at the show as it is usually quite a quiet affair. I'm also wondering where my 200 blue diesel circa 1971 collection is going to be displayed on the layout.

Fog permitting, I hope to welcome Pig Lane to 36E tomorrow about 08. 00.

Duckaroona.

Not only a deadline but I have really enjoyed building the buildings and painting them.

Really pleased I found the Oxford Regent V, I also found an Oxford Regent III but I think that would have been withdrawn by the time the layout is set.

Layout is now in its travelling state, ready to be loaded into the car.
