As people have said to me, the Shed will be there when YOUR ready, and I know your a Summer Shed man so there is no rush to get outside just yet, but plenty of planning time. I'm not going to advise / suggest / hint at what I think you should do next, as I know you already have some ideas, and so I'm just looking forward to following and enjoying the next ride down the Dee Valley or wherever the Route takes you. I suppose life has a way of getting in the way of our fun from time to time. Your work, whether it be this layout, your coach building, experimenting with sounds or O gauge modelling has always been an inspiration for me and your willingness to share your trials and tribulations in building Carrog has certainly helped my modelling improve. While my day job has been on hold, I found time to do a bit of modelling last week. An 0 gauge Pannier was run-in on Jintymans rollers (thanks). A Dapol B-set has had an eye cast over it after dismantling (vee haff ideas), and a GWR auto coach arrived. Dapol GWR auto trailer. The prototype coaches received BR carmine & cream between 1949 and 1953 and after that, plain carmine red. By the time of the livery changes in 1956, these coaches were almost 49 years old and facing withdrawal, so I wondered why Dapol chose to turn it's model out in BR maroon.The roof was slid forward to detach, not an easy move. Then the recessed door glazing removed. This allowed the interior to be taken out before the remainder of the glazing was prized away. With the solebars and bogies etc masked off, the body was given a coat of Halfords grey Plastic Primer. Two hours later, carmine red (cellulose) was sprayed on. Overspray on the chassis was painted out using Railmatch 419 black. I was a bit annoyed with myself because my cellulose carmine comes out rather dull on top of grey primer. I should have given it a finishing coat of Halfords Ford Rosso Red.Droplights frames on the glazing were carefully painted over in lightened Precision Paints P116 BR coach crimson (carmine/blood)....The underframe will be weathered at some future date, when I have a new layout.... PS: The ballast is Photoshopped to hide the fact that a length of 0 gauge track was placed on top of the 4mm layout. Nice treatment of the Dapol coach, I hope they do it in 4mm. My layout area had panelled autocoaches right up to the coming of the Class 122 DMU, but they were the 70' version. No waddle....It ran well. I managed to get the roof off and will be adding passengers at some point. I did think about adding lights (the one I have is the bog standard version). I don't know about repainting but weathering should help. I also have his 8750 Pannier and yours looks to be the same. I've added the details (drilling holes in mazak - aaarrghhh!). Here it is beside a SanCheng Pannier in November 2016. The door was at the wrong end for Carrog..... So I made a start by making a new door and inserting it at the other side of the box.... The signalbox was then filed down until all the walls were flush, and then clad with Slaters English bond embossed brick sheet. Roof supports were also lowered and new ones added by the doorway.... While remodelling the back end, I built a brick chimney. I decided against making locking room windows... The main colours of cream, red brick and engineering dark blue brick were sprayed on and the corner stones added with a ruling pen. This model is one window bay longer than the real box at Carrog, plus it is slightly wider, but it has saved me a lot of work....
