RMweb Premium Coryton Posted April 29, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 29, 2018 Love the headline. No idea where Bullet train comes from Or indeed "futuristic new" given that this one of the most conventional trains to be ordered for National Rail in many years. A diesel locomotive attached to a rake of coaches...what will they think of next?

cal.n
No more mk3s for TPE https://www.tpexpress.co.uk/media-centre/mark-3-disability-statement The URL seems to suggest something to do with disability regs?
Indomitable026
Just spotted these two at York this evening in the Scarborough bay So in think these are my first ‘TPE’ 68s spotted on the route they will be working.
Mark Saunders
No more mk3s for TPE https://www.tpexpress.co.uk/media-centre/mark-3-disability-statement The URL seems to suggest something to do with disability regs? There was also an online petition started against TPE claiming disability discrimination if these were used! TPE tried to placate this with if the next train was so formed then the a Taxi would be provided so it looks a bit like a damage limitation exercise! Political correctness and potential bad publicity seems to have doomed the move.
2mm Andy
Just spotted these two at York this evening in the Scarborough bay B8B20AA8-8D7C-4D4B-939E-AC31FDB9F231.jpeg So in think these are my first ‘TPE’ 68s spotted on the route they will be working. A pair of 68s were heading towards Scarborough as I was walking to work at about 9am this morning. Pretty sure I heard them yesterday too (but didn't see them). Talltim
Looks like TPE have been planning to not use the Mk3s in passenger service for far longer than the recent announcement https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OIYcjAHtzLWxNT9xCuZhB_wup25k9eh0 The bits redacted in black are still there and can be read by selecting the text Info from https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/transpennine-express-decide-not-to-use-mk3s-on-limited-services.144501/page-31#post-3526184

RMweb Gold 4630 Posted December 18, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 18, 2018 In light Pennine drizzle, 68020 Reliance and 68021 Tireless pass Ravensthorpe on 18th November 2018 with 0M68, 08.00 Scarborough to Longsight Carriage Maintenance Depot. There're are a couple of workings in the schedule for tomorrow which *might*, if they run, be the first TPE class 68s and Mk 5 coaches trips across the Pennines and back. http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/O67706/2018/12/19/advanced http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/O67677/2018/12/19/advanced
RMweb Gold 4630 Posted January 3, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 3, 2019 TransPennine Express class 68s are becoming increasingly regular visitors on the route across the Pennines, with driver training including the 'Nova 3' sets due to start shortly - if the platform end wibble is to be believed. 68023 Achilles leading sisters 68027 and 68021 Tireless at Burton Salmon on 3rd January with 0M68, 0922 York Siemens Depot to Longsight Depot... ...and as I was driving back via Huddersfield, I also caught the 'triple-header' along the Standedge route at Colne Bridge.
ianmacc
One from York station just before Christmas. Looks cleaner without yellow ends but I’m still not convinced doing away with them is the right thing to do. I know why.
