Mozzer's new work bench 4mm That Welsh Brake Van building A AA/24

Recommended Posts

If you get a chance, and haven't already done so, could you please weigh one of the wagons when it's finished? I'm curious what they come in at with all those castings.

Cheers

Scott

Hi Scott did that back on post 354

Each wagon is 146 grams in weight

So the full train of 9 wagons will be 1,314 grams

Ah, very good - thank you.

Certainly not unmovable on a flat earth layout, but more than likely echoing real life in needing a banker with some grunt, if there's any hint of grades.

A nice whitemetal Q7, at around 400g and all of that passed down through the drivers, should do it!

Cheers

Nice little wagons I ought to get a serpent in 7mm.

I think the brakes are wrong on the LSWR wagon, I have a feeling on single sided brakes, the brakes and morton clutch are on the same side.

the casting of the brakes only has detail on one side so if i but the brakeleavers the other sides then the brakes would not work (push leaver down brake move away from wheels)

The next item to build is a Mercian 4mm Andrew Barclay 14'' oc 0-4-0 To be finished as GWR 701 This kit is to be finished & not just in primmer

i have a set of works plates for the lock from Narrow Plant

But it looks like it will be tuesday before i can start it as the gas fitter coming to test thing for the landlord & a customer is call in to pick up a set of 3 wagons
