Cracking on with the scenics at a good pace today. Double tunnel portal built and cliff side built with modroc. Scenic scatter added and static grass layers added. Loads to do yet, track and ballast needs weathering down and more static grass and other scenics. Enough for today though

BR Class 5 73049 and pilot 2P 40634 (ex S&D 45) wait to depart platform 1 with the weekday Summer Sheffield - Bournemouth West. Referred to locally as the Sheffield Pines running 10 minutes ahead of The Pines down the S&D
The express stands over the Avon river bridge. On the left Midland Bridge yard and on the right 3 Mk 1's stabled in one of the two sidings between the main lines and the Midland loco shed. On a Summer Saturday these two sidings are crammed with visiting locos awaiting their return north workings

A shot of an ongoing diorama with a longer section of the stone walling featured on the previous page of this thread. Wire-wound trees have been added in today. The diorama is meant as a photo-stage: a section of my S&C layout Gill Head is in the background.

Here's my humble offering from my almost complete exhibition layout  Padsbridge.

 

D6331 ticks over in the dries yard having delivered it's rake of empty clay wagons.

 

As well as the usual loco sounds, I have built a number of 30 minute sound tracks into the layout which run as background sounds. For example, on the sound track for the china clay dries there's the sound of fans starting and running, forklifts running around, road vehicles arriving and  departing, workers talking and the other general sounds that you'd hear in such a works. I hope it's of interest anyway.

It's a Fleischmann Br78 4-6-4T, model number 407801K.  They do lots of variants, but I wanted one suitable for EpIV.

 

It is delightful!

This is a Manning Wardle K Class weathered for my friend Colin French's new Micro Layout 'Dunwich Tramway'. Very impressed with this O Gauge Minerva Model. It is still to be coaled!

At somepoint I really do need to look at the backscene on Dallam and do something other than plain white. Had a play around adding a grey overcast sky on a photo edit app for some fun and to get ideas. Here are a couple of the pics I edited, these are my first attempts.

They both work to my eyes. I particularly like the top one with the threat of rain in the air.

To celebrate the forthcoming centenary of the Grouping, in particular the formation of the LMS, the South Lancashire Railway are staging an exhibition of LMS pre-grouping locomotives. Examples of LNWR, L&Y, Midland and Caledonian can be seen, including one in primer displayed on a low loader.
