All the way from Newport, presumably with an Old Oak driver who signed the traction.  My best memory of 1200 was watching it with loaded 35ton loose-coupled iron ore hoppers flat out through Newport High Street at about 20mph on the up relief middle road on a Newport Docks-Llanwern, ground trembling under me, proper thug of an engine.  Impressive!

To my great regret I missed it by a few months, went searching for it after a trip to Woodhams, Barry Island.

As the late afternoon sun drops in the sky nothing much is happening in this backwater. Date taken 9.5.1982

that is simply stunning 👍🏻

58044 make a strange sight up in the High Peaks. Drone shots seem to be all the rage these days, back in the day you'd have to climb a mountain to get this shot!!!!!

Apologies, another non-railway themed photo...

A recent photoshoot from my fictional model bus fleet, Crossways. It's great to finally see some nice weather - never fails to amaze me how much difference decent natural lighting makes.

Beautiful picture, I think the static grass is very realistic. So often static grass is better than green sawdust only because it is 3 dimensional. Here it looks like it is actually growing.

If it were not for the shadows on the right and left of the picture, the large shadow in the middle could be a storm cloud...

In reality it's something on the shelf in the window.

Its great when you can get natural light on a layout.

I don't think this image qualifies for this thread because there's not a lot of modelling in it, but I just liked it for some reason.

Trevor alights at Woodbridge and considers whether to go to McDonalds or Burger King (but not KFC).
