Lesley Welch eat your heart out!

Now there's a coincidence. I used to take the odd gill with Leslie Welch. This Leslie Welch was a splendid fellow who did a fine job of keeping the sewers of Durham City running freely.

If I remember correctly your Leslie Welch once stopped at my Leslie Welsh's B&B. My LW had many strings to his bow including a fine memory.

I think we had two of these little Yorkshires at Whiteheads, Newport. One went to Caerphilly, and the other went to the Gwili, Carmarthen. sadly, Both of these had radiator issues, and although repairable, were cut up.

I remember them . Faded blue ?

Parked up together in the late 1970's after Whiteheads had finished with them .

Passed them regularly on my way to do a bit of spotting at Ebbw Junction .

 Yes, they're the ones.

Going to be interesting getting sound and stay alive in that little fella !

Anyone know if these will have working marker lights ?

Specifications state directional headlights & tail lights, plus a cab light.

After the fit issues and largish wheel flanges on the PWMs, I'm concerned regarding my 02 pre-order...

I understand where you are coming from with this .

Sceptical about working marker lights being fitted on an 02 if they couldn't do it on the larger PWM

Hopefully the Class 02 will take after the Class 11 instead of the PWM 'misfire' - purchasers of the former seem happy with it to date......🤞

Any updates on reaching the shops??

Haven't heard anything as yet .

If you get notifications from their FB page you could ask the question .

They're usually very good at replying

I've learnt to take delivery dates for models from all manufacturers with a large pinch of salt .

Always over optimistic leading to disappointment when predicted delivery dates come and go .

Worse still,  you get modellers insulting modellers when legitimate questions are asked ( see the SLW class 25 thread/ debacle to see what I mean ) and where some individuals have assumed the role of moderator.

Very unedifying in what is at the end of the day , a hobby .

At  the model world LIVE in Brum and of particular interest to me was the 00 gauge class 02 .

Got a couple of close up shots thru the glass case ( sorry , but I'm no David Bailey

and it looks good and , having spoken to Ben Jones , he has said the 00 model WILL have shunting lights .

Result !

Delivery  expected  in the  autumn. 20240427_121825.jpg.08ae8dc0229ed4cbed42592d0bed6e40.jpg20240427_121847.jpg.766291ba0e27397128600ef7cd75f22a.jpg20240427_121856.jpg.2c5c237a45ca116232a04132e85ad584.jpg
