My PH Design inspection platform has been sitting around doing nothing, so I decided to finish of the second one. Really must get around to painting these. Any suggestions on colour?

Then 70006 was seen at the head of a "silver" bullet train before uncoupling and moving into the container yard. Now that this is working I'm really pleased with it.

Thanks for the colour coments, will attack those when home next.

One area that I've struggled with while building Scalescenes kits is right angles of the walls and running out of hands to hold the  pieces together.  These magnetic corners are a brilliant idea. One of those wish I'd thought of it items.  I'd seen them in an issue of Model Rail and contacted the company, however they could not send them to the US; maybe due to the magnets.

So a poke around the internet and I found a company here in the states that sells a similar product. These come in a nice package that house two/right angle corners and some legs. Using these could not be easier; you pull the inner square out, put your pieces in the corner and slide the square back in and repeat if necessary to hold the parts together. Then apply glue down the seam and leave to dry.

There is a hole that is left when the inner square is placed back in so you can get glue right into the corners.  Once dry simply remove the clamps, neat, simple and square!

I've used them to hold walls together for the shops, and the industrial building. The walls on the industrial building had become to come undone so these corner clamps really came in handy to fix the joints.

Really is a strange looking loco from this low level look.

The train was captured later in the day leaving and then passing through the station southboun

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

This new schedule off mine, away for six days home for three, really doesn't leave me much time for the layout. Time is taken up with house bits and pieces and spending time with the family. So it usually comes down to "playing" trains.

There is a new steel train (from Father Christmas) that runs from the plant "of scene" to some deliveries on the lower level before continuing on its way. First pictures show my class 60 pulling the train of the siding, it then runs around the train before heading through the station and onto the lower level. Managed to catch photos of the weathered wagons crossing the road to the concrete plant.

Having made it home and with some time available 08921 was brought out and finally shunted the steel coil into Angus and the I beams were readied for off loading onto a trailer.. Looks like somebody has imported a Ford pick up truck.

Also whilst taxi past the ramp in West Palm Beach three of the now defunct Avantair piaggios were on the ramp waiting to be auctioned off or parted out :-(

The shed for Gloucester Road was built unbranded with the idea that as my fleet of locos grew it could be used for various companies. As such Freightliner currently has three classes represented.

I imagine DRS might have some locos soon too, with the forth coming class 37, 57 and future 68.

Still not had much time for modelling, so "operations" have been underway.

60054 was seen on the back road of the shed and from the looks of it might be down for awhile. Never good when the manual needs to be looked at :)

(Must paint that inspection platform)

Freightliner were out in force today, with two of the local locos captured at my favourite road crossing. Really pleased that under this much zoom these locos hold up to inspection; except for the strand on the 57! On the 70 I was happy with how the track and static grass look.

Actually had some time to do some modelling; decided that I should paint the inspection platforms. Was going to go with a weathered safety yellow, couldn't find my yellow, so went with weathered metal.

First the primer

Then the weathering using powders and paints.

Pleased with how the two of them turned out.

On a separate front this blue monster turned up. Having worked for the airline side of this company, before it became a railroad, I have been keeping an eye out for this in my local hobby shop. In there the other day and there she was; an EMD SD40-2 by Kato in Pan Am Railways blue. She looks great and runs beautifully, have found photos on line so some weathering and painting to match, maybe tomorrow, and then I should have a nice momento off my time there.
