ess1uk
Pretty sure it was Interespray who painted my Hornby 47 Bristol Bath Road back in the 1990s. Best loco I have. Nice pictures of your 33, I too was sure you had slipped some prototype photos in

vac_basher
Pretty sure it was Interespray who painted my Hornby 47 Bristol Bath Road back in the 1990s. Best loco I have. Some of my Class 50s were done by Neil at Interspray. I really like them. He works to a very high standard and is most helpful. HI I'm new to the forum and only just seen this, I worked at Bath Road for a few years(late 70s) and your layout is very good and i have many a yarn to tell . VERY GOOD Hi, welcome Den Thanks for the compliments. I look forward to hearing your stories if you wish to share them here Right.... A few more photos of my pair of Cromptons. It's really weird because I actually posted 3 pictures here yesterday and somehow they've dissapeared, along with all my other posts that I made yesterday too.... And the following are the photos which went missing, so I'm posting them again for those who may have missed them.... mikemeg
These have got to be some of the best model photos that I've ever seen. I never saw the diesel depots, having given up watching the railways, long before, but I can't believe there is a better portrayal of how these places must have looked than this. As many posters have remarked, I found it hard to believe this wasn't the real thing. Cheers Mike Edited February 27, 2013 by mikemeg
Grimleygrid
Absolutely fantastic Vac_basher, stunning work Sir! Now that is how to model the inside of a TMD.....love all the little details that you have added. The tools and metal tool box really do look good! I always did like 008 in Green with the small yellow warning panel.
vac_basher
Some loco photos, of some unusual machines too.... No smoke effects on these ones. This is a bit of a project, which isn't yet finished as can be seen by the abscence of wipers and bufferbeam detail, etc. I think the loco's have a particulary "big" look to them in these photos.
vac_basher
A few more....Next time I want to tr some diffrent angles and lighting.
vac_basher
A few from tonights session.I'm trying to create some atmosphere.... I'm quite pleased with these, which I reckon may quite possibly be my best photos to date, even though they're not quite what I had in mind..... Shame about the hair in all of them though

Raffles
Very, very good. Could the second one be done without the cab lights on?
porkie
This is great.... I recently brought a dvd about bristol bath road depot. And your modeling skills are great. Well done. Loved reading this thread.
vac_basher
Very, very good. Could the second one be done without the cab lights on? Theoretically it could, except it's all gone back into the cubboard for now though.... I appriciate your (and everybody else's, of course) feedback on these photos as I was looking for an objective oppinion on them. However, next time I have the 47 and the diorama out I will bear your request in mind and I'll try to get the same shot without the cab lights. vac_basher
I've spent a few evenings doing up a Hornby Class 73, so I thought I'd share a few photos with you Even though they're not exceptionally great photos. After the first session I noticed I had the ISO on 400, so went back for another session expecting them to be better. But that wasn't it either. So I've come to the conclussion that the focus was slightly out because I didn't use a tripod....The Pullman one actually isn't quite finished. The horns need replacing and I want to try the PHD Design footsteps because the ones I scratch built for the other one (intercity livery) took ages and don't look right.
Grimleygrid
Hi Vac_basher, just catching up on your thread. Some cracking photos, well done Sir. I see that you have added lights to your inspection pits, they look very good.
vac_basher
Hi Grimley,Thanks Been a bit busy with boring not railway related things reccently, so I havn't had much time for modelling. I havn't wired the inspection pit lights up yet. Will post some photos of them when I eventually get round to it.
vac_basher
I reccently found out I had two models of 50004 in large logo livery. So I had a little think of what I could do with the "spare" one..... And decided on 50046 in 1990 condition, which was one of the better 50s in my oppinion. I actually did have a model of 46 in large logo livery with black roof but unfortunatly it was stollen from me a few years ago I would have liked to have this one professionally done, although as I havn't been able to get in contact with my renumbering/weathering man, in the end I decided to have a go at it myself.Just for the record, I only repainted the roof (matt black areosol paint from Halfords) which I carefully masked. The numbers were removed with T-Cut, which left a bit of a shine. Weathering was achived using both acryilcs and enamal paints.Although not perfect, I'm quite happy with the end result. Now I can start thinking about which Class 50 I want to do next! 50046 with 50031Had a bit of a large logo Class 50 line-up 50004 50046 50036 and 50031 Edited October 24, 2013 by vac_basher

vac_basher
A few reccent photos........departmental Class 33 waiting it's next turn..... Little project I've reccently been working on.More about this can be found here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/54106-first-dozen-or-so-class-37-detail-diffrences-quick-question/47 line up.An old favourite I decided to model. 47004 in 1994 condition.Distinctive NSE/Scotrail 47706NSE 47715 47805 "Bristol Bath Road" herself!Royal train 47834Battered 47706A more detailed view of the weathering on 47706 50036 "Victorious"4468 "Mallard" making a breif appearance.Long summer evenings......47710 visits. This is actually a reworked Lima Class 60I never liked the weathered version of Edward Elgar. However, with some etched plates and a properly weathered chassis it seems to be not too bad.I still don't understand why Hornby portrayed it with a filthy body and underframe yet with a pristine roof! This is a project I've been working on reccently. I've already put about 100 hours into this, although it's not quite finished yet.I have a fealing this one may well be my opus maximus!More about this next time.....
