Guest jim s-w
The western does seem to be listing a lot more than the angle of the track its on. Cheers Jim
Coach bogie
Trains from Paddington reversed at Chester to continue to Birkenhead - there was always a replacement engine waiting to back on, to reduce stopping time in the station. I do not recall ever seeing the arriving loco take the same train out to Birkenhead. Arriving loco either went to fuel or stabled in the bay platform at the Shrewsbury end. Silver Sidelines
My wife asked "Why on earth did they paint it beige?" !!!!!!! Yes there was a very similar comment made here when I bought my Heljan version - then of course there is Western Champion. Wives can be very perceptive - "It looks just like the one you have already!" Ray Edited February 27, 2013 by Silver Sidelines
DapolDave
Yup, first of the green ones have been dispatched. (249 models) the remainder are about a week away along with the first batch of Blue. Cheers Dave
Rugd1022
D1000 with an 8f, whos going to be the first to paint a small yellow panel on their D1000 then? http://www.flickr.com/photos/64518788@N05/8415428207/ Very nice! Taken just north of Leamington where the line dips under the aquaduct... if the 8F is indeed giving 'Enterprise a shove it could be bucking a bit with the geometry of the track, I don't know what is what like then, but even today it's a fairly twisty bit in the dip and back up towards Warwick. Funny thing is, only a few years back we'd have said early shots of the Thousands on the Brum route are quite rare, but they seem to be coming out of the woodwork now... long may it continue...!
Michael Delamar
could this be the closest D1000 got to the Somerset and Dorset? http://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/8475583957/

Can we expect a Desert Sand and GSYP double headed combo on the next 3C07 Down Vans then Mike...? The thought of having some blue ones has stopped me in my tracks a bit, having previously settled on the earlier period - I keep looking at all those wonderful sunny blue era Hydraulic shots in the Bradford Barton books and it's doing me no good at all...! Guest jim s-w
Hi all On a western theme did Western Queen get repaired or was it witten off after the Dorridge accident? Cheers Jim
BR(S)
A Western in less glamorous surroundings. Some lovely detail in this photo. You can run, but you can't hide! by Deadmans Handle, on Flickr And to answer Jim's question, there are lots of pictures of "Western Queen" after the date of the accident, so looks like she was rebuilt, as alluded to here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/geoffsimages/7896655232/ Edited February 27, 2013 by BR(S)

BR(S)
A slighlty different shot here from the usual positions used at Exeter St David's, taken off the end of the south end of Platform 1. The train is on the long-since-removed centre road and unless there was a set of points there I don't know about, I assume it was just passing through: http://www.flickr.com/photos/68861278@N03/8244176634/
