edubs
Thanks looks very nice, you've captured the colours very well. Tell us more; what techniques did you use? Thanks Mark. It's just Enamels, applied in various ways and states of thickness with cotton buds, cocktail sticks and brushes. I did this one about 15 years ago actually. Cheers, Eddie.
26power
Carstairs 1961, colour Sure we've had this, or similar but searching this topic doesn't work for me. Difficult to have much more of a contrast between the two - one "out the box", the other so rusted hard to say it was ever painted in the first instance. http://www.rail-online.co.uk/p735325087/hC5B7CF4#hc5b7cf4

Fat Controller
And the headcode shows 'Light Engine'. Looks like a posed publicity shot to me? Stewart The title is something like 'traintest Keston 3-58'; perhaps these were shots of a trial working of either vac-fitted minerals, or even the Westinghouse air-braked trials, though 1958 might be a bit late for that. 26power
Michael's link has me looking through the 53A collection again. Couple in colour: 07/1966 - Hedon, East Yorkshire. https://www.flickr.com/photos/blue-diesels/17152066438/in/photostream/ 21/09/1974 - Crossley Evans Scrapyard, Shipley, West Yorkshire. https://www.flickr.com/photos/blue-diesels/15215748874/in/dateposted/ Hope we haven't had before, I don't recall them.
RMweb Gold Market65 Posted September 17, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 17, 2015 I particularly like that Hedon photo'. Very local and interesting, and also sad to see the railway so derelict after closure of the line to traffic except a small number of freight trains. The mineral wagons are paticularly rusty! With regards, Rob.

andy stroud
A couple of pics from me. This first one was taken in September 1986. Can anybody guess where it is? This next one was taken at Perth in August 1988 which I reckon was fairly late for 16 tonners to be running on the main line. Not sure when they were last ever used on BR. cheers, andy
