According to the site, they use Fedex at a flat rate of £8, but for lighter orders they'll use RM at lower cost. I imagine these fall into the latter - unless you've ordered a crate of the things!

Which is why I was asking -if they are going to charge £8 for one I might as well drive to them as it will be fair chunk of the petrol costs.

Mine arrived via special Delivery this morning. Whilst I lack specialist knowledge of these vehicles, first impressions are very positive; bodywork crisply moulded with separate handrails and water pipes. Underframe is nice too, with decent springs and axleboxes. Steps, battery box, vac cylinder and actuator all nicely done. Separately fitted brake trussing is also supplied as are scale couplings, vac and steam pipes.

Seeing as these are long-wheelbase vehicles, I was pleasantly surprised to see a continental-style articulated close-coupling system fitted underneath.

This seems like a very nice model indeed although I'm sure somebody will be along shortly to put me in my benighted place! :ireful: ;)

If you look at my original post re: having them in stock, they quoted me as saying Royal Mail 1st class recorded delivery.

My SR two pack arrived yesterday and these were ordered when they were first announced ( can't remember when that was). They really are nice models and look good running with the recent Hornby Horseboxes

The TMC Birdseye conflat set that I ordered came about 2 weeks after it first appeared on this site that they had been released.

Maybe TMC despatch the orders in rotation of customers placing their order with them.

I pre-ordered one in May but haven't had any communication from them yet :sad_mini: how long should I leave it before contacting them, or just ordering it from their website?

Thanks for that info, petee19. I'll wait and try to be patient for a while!

A quick snap taken with my mobile:

Mine arrived with Saturday morning's post; no idea when I ordered it (in fact, I was beginning to wonder whether I had!).

I particularly like the frosted glass lavatory window, complete with 'peep holes' either side of the ventilator. The ventilators on the roof are very neat, too.

You could start here.

That looks like the pre-production images TMC has had up on its website for ages...

I'm still waiting too - my credit card expired at the end of September so i phoned to update my details. They said no thanks, wait until we call. It seems that's easier for them than trying to find an individual order they haven't yet reached.

Thanks 31A!!

I'm in the UK at the moment and some of these should be winging their way to Oz!!

Cheers, Peter C.

I contacted them and the reply was that they had over 1000 orders to fulfill and asked me to be patient. The orders were to be despatched according to when the order was placed - earliest first...

Have got two lovely SR ones and two bags of detailing bits.

Could someone advise or place a picture showing where the relevant fittings go?

Have two Pill box brake vans with similar bags and same scenario

Would it be too much trouble for Bachmann to include an illustrated instruction with these fine models.
