RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted September 5, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 5, 2014 What does 45 minutes, no return, 75 minutes mean? 'dim dychwelyd' (I think). Normally such signs say 'no return within XX minutes/hours.

RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted September 5, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) We have quite a few parking restrictions like that but not in Welsh. I assume them to mean you may park for up to 45 minutes but once you leave you can't return for another 75 minutes. However the no return is usually a couple of hours here. I always wonder if it applies to the car or the driver. I could pop out to the local shops and park. If on my return my wife took the car and parked in the same car park within the no return time, would that be an offence? I suppose things can't be that bad if that is all I have to be concerned about! Tony Edited September 5, 2014 by Tony_S

I would assume that it relates to the car, but as you say if your wife drove out again, she wouldn't have necessarily known where/when you'd have parked. I reckon if someone had parked for 75min and if given a ticket for overstaying the 45min, on appeal they'd have a good chance of getting off as the signage is ambiguous.
