RMweb Premium melmerby Posted September 25, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Seen in B&Q (Solihull) In the hardware section: £8 each - 2 for £20 (Smoke alarms) Blimey, school maths really has really changed since I was there! On the Moseley road in Birmingham there is a pub called the "Merrymaid" (all one word) Before it's recent redecoration an r & y were missing. People were actually referring to it as the "Mermaid"! Keith Edit: added B&Q product! Edited September 27, 2014 by melmerby

That's been around for years. There used to be a very non PC (and somewhat racist sounding) car service place in Birmingham which certainly wouldn't be allowed now. "Golliwogs" Slogan: "We don't put jam in jars, we put exhausts on cars" Incidentally they were Black people that were running it! No point being witty, if it puts potential customers off.
RMweb Premium melmerby Posted October 8, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) Yes, but was it a successful business strategy?
