Obvious question. Where did the soil come from for the vegetation to grow in such unlikely places?

I think I have discovered a new high/low in ebay madness. This item is an HO plastic, non-motored model in a plastic case. I would really, really like it, because I have travelled in it on the Transvap preserved line, for which the railcar was originally built in 1947. They also have #903, and I've travelled in that, too.

Just look at the price!

I suspect that the bids on these get so high due to the fact the Atlas railcar series are fairly accurate and nicely detailed models, and are good candidates for improvement and even motorisation (with a bit of chopping up). The excellent Biscatrain blog has a whole section on doing just that. It's in French but the pictures speak for themselves (layout now sadly dismantled I believe, due to a house move).

Disclaimer: I cannot be held responsible if you end up spending quite a few hours looking through this wonderful blog.

These people who sell empty boxes.....

what do they pack them in for posting?

Hi,

Two options available:

(1) A very large Jiffy bag.

(2) Just stick the stamps straight on the box beside an address label.

I'll close the door on the way out.

Regards All

There's quite a few at that price available from Hong Kong. Some very interesting ones including what looks very much like a Sentinel steam railcar. Item # 141433847668

I particularly like this one.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ATLAS-1-87-HO-G-3-3-SLM-1894-Tram-Diecast-9001-/141489626322?pt=UK_ToysGames_DiecastVehicles_DiecastVehicles_JN&hash=item20f1705cd2

I have one. If you do buy one be careful when removing the tram from the base, the couplings between the locomotive and tram are not glued in place and will drop out, guess how I know. (Carpet monster 1 model 0).

Take care of your models chaps and chapesses.  Looks like the green stuff is spreading......  I do hope it's not a pandemic in the offing......

This didn't sell for £300 last time around.  Do we think it'll sell this time?  I don't think the answer has a Y in it!
