EBay madness

Whilst not mad in a bad way, I'm loving the ammount of Tri-Ang Blue Pullmans being sold given the upcoming Bachmann model. Shown here is a complete (as far as I can tell) rake for a fraction of the Bachmann price.

£125 for a 6 vehicle rake would have been unheard of a few years ago, at roughly £21 for each item it's going to be a bargain for someone.

Now then, I really must log into Paypal and get this one before it's gone !!!!!!!!! countdown conundrum - "wire, my, pulling, are, ? you".

There was a lot consisting of much more than this, for sale by a box shifter at the Taunton show for £50. I did give it a second thought, but....!

Not a model I seek, but a couple of minutes on Google found a dealer with several in stock at £65, which I presumed to be new - and certainly post-free in the UK!

Bachmann Class 31 for sale? Or maybe it's Hornby or maybe.......

I wonder if the additional grilles have been added, 31302 had the normal 6 on one side but an additional 2 grilles underneath the 2 normal ones at the other end.

Ok so not a model but something I keep an eye on.

So the postcard is from a picture readily available in large format for a fiver, it is also of the GN not the LNWR and it closed in 67, £35.99 anyone ?

The description isn't that far out as it was both GN & LNWR, although the train is on the GN side of the station.

It was officially closed from 1/1/68 according to this:

Oh dear Gostude has moved into 'spares' - well loco motors anyway, several available and as you would expect £25 from Gostude, £17 from High Level........

At least he doesn't claim for them to be 'collectable'.

I wonder how long these too will be on the Gostude shelf?

Am amazed at the bidding

For once some of the items do seem to merit the description RARE.

GW box

Pre war A4

As well as the little diesel.

But for me the pill box SR brake currently at £211 is the most amazing.

I will stick with the new Bachmann version even though the one on offer has sand boxes.

I'm probably being a bit picky but the station is Sandy, not Sandy North, it's the GN not LNWR (closed and last service 30/12/67 ) and it's £36 for a postcard which is readily available for £2 or a picture print for a fiver.

Just seemed a bit steep to me.

An empty box , yours for 40 + sheets.

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3a7b2d4aec

It went for over £100 incl. p&p. That's considerably more (in real terms) than I paid for the contents*. Granted it was quite a few years ago, but ....

There's also this bit of cardboard, currently at £22.

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item53ef97fb44

I must have thrown several of these away, as a boy. Presumably so did nearly everyone else, which is why it's now rare, but even so.

* She can be seen here (Scroll down to post #4).
