....and for Southern Railway fans:

Like me, you'll be hugely reassured to hear that '...One of the free rolling passenger coaches has lost one set of wheels. This should not affect running...', and with '...very light scuffing and some surface corrosion on the wheel links...', surely a bargain.

He's says it will be "Sadly missed"!   I doubt that at £85....

It's an 'all in one' connecting/piston rod actually. These things have gear coupling between their driving wheels. I did fit coupling rods to one, but it's not really worth the trouble.

I think she's more suitable for the American Southern Railway than the British one (Lima described her as an 'Alco 1930'), but the nearest I've ever found to a prototype had six driving wheels' Good enough for a 'toy' starter locomotive I suppose. There is also an even more improbable tender version. They do run and pull well however in their defence.

The less said about the coaches the better. They are based on a Continental prototype, but far too short, I think they are left over from Lima's early days when a passing resemblance to a train was good enough.

Madness tinged with disappointment! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MTK-KIT-for-a-BULLEID-RAWORTH-SR-ELECTRIC-CLASS-70-LOCO-CC1-No-20001-OO-Gauge/292809995142

I was planning to bid. There's another one at £360.

I'm glad that I've got the MTK brass wrapper for one so scratchbuilding will be the order of the day!

P.S. The lunacy continues. One chap 'e...e' whoever he is has now bid £760, £360 and £87 for the three MTK kits, that's £1157. Yes MTK kits with all their deficiencies! In particular the cast 'faces'.

Two people are locked in bidding. Watch this space!

It's a mad, mad, mad world as somebody once said!
