Bit late I know but saw 60096 heading towards Immingham at Barnetby last weekend. Here she is with those wonderful 'pegs'!

60040 came through prior to this working as well.

Cheers,

Mark

Just like the old days, biking round with a camera on my back.

Hi again

I went to Arpley again as planned at 17.30 and seconds after my arrival 60013 passed under the bridge towards Latchford sidings! I waited for its return with a rake of empty HTAs bound for Liverpool Bulk terminal B) .

Here are the pictures,60013 is my second 60 sighting in 2 days!

Managed to grab shots of 2 recent 60's on the 6E32 Preston - Lindsay empty tank train.

In the pouring rain 60091 heads away from Preston on the 29/09/10

Yes she is! :D

The opportunities to photograph 60s could soon be gone for good, catch em while you can! :D

Btw I waited for half an hour for 013 at Arpley with bitterly cold winds which left me rather frozen!

I hope 013 or 059 is still working the LBT-FFPS diagram until at least this Friday when Im next at Arpley B)

Another tug to work off Westbury today - 60048.

Making a welcome sight in place of the more usual 66, 60048 passes Claverton with 6C41 Newport ADJ to Westbury engineers working. The ballast boxes behind the tug were a bit more varied that the often seen set of yellow 'Falcons', today formed of a pair JNAs, a large set of MCA/MDAs and a trio of MOAs on the rear

Weather wasn't great today, but the sound of the 60 certainly went well on the way of compensating! There are some alternative views here too: http://joalder.fotop...t/c1906340.html

cheers

60054 has been in Doncaster up yard for the last couple of mornings. Yesterday it was on a ballast working and today it was just sat in the yard throat ticking over.

The stage of expressing interest has gone, tendering is now taking place although EMR will probably come out as the winner of all 20, or maybe there will be a few unsold locos as EMR are still collecting their locos from the previous tenders. They will need to move them or pay fees for taking up space so with this in mind plus some of their other yards such as EMR Attercliffe and Hartlepool being small there wont be space for much more locos for the time being. Those there would need to be cut up first.

It's also worth bearing in mind that the locos on the current list have a reserve price on them, which wasn't done in previous tenders. Depending on how high DBS has set the bar, it's possible at least some of the 60s won't find buyers, even though a few of those on offer, such as 070 and 098, are good for nohing more than razor blades. There's also likely to be plenty of less expensive items on this latest list to keep the scrappies busy.

Very interesting - thanks for sharing that Dave!

I'm sorry to do it again to you all guys, here's another tug on the Mendip stone, captured earlier today

post-6899-047038300 1285873456_thumb.jpg

Making it a pair of 60s to work a Mendip stone in the last fortnight, 60074 'Teenage Spirit' powers past Great Cheverell sounding excellent hauling 6M20 from Whatley to St Pancras. The orange RMC hoppers do go well with the blue loco.

cheers

Oh no it's not.

It's at Clitheroe just brought 6F94 ex-St Pancras cement tanks from Toton. Should depart 0600ish Sturday morning, I may just have to hear that pass my back door on a 1 in 120 with over 1000te in tow!

First 60 at the cement works for a loooooooong time.

Cheers,

Mick

I wonder what will happen if DBS keeps storing-reactivating 60s without giving them overhauls?

Eventually they will need a proper overhaul so how long will they keep on going for?

Also on WNXX.com,60007 is set to be dug out of Crewe DMD for some serious TLC and a return to traffic??

I think since the announcement that they were storing them all, and flogging some, ive seen more in the general nottingham and down the midland mainline than i have in a long time, nice to hear them rumbling through notts again!
