Hi Mick, What is the process for getting parts etched up, please? (Eventually) I will be needing to get steps/handrails and meshes made up for a project and I'd like to know how you go about it. Cheers, Marcus

RMweb Premium Popular Post newbryford Posted July 31, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 31, 2021 It's nearly there! A few paint details to tidy up - such as the cab kickplate and a couple of other bits around the remote lights, then finish off adding details - air tanks, pipes etc, a bit of light weathering and she's good to earn her keep on DL. Although just after I'd fitted the (non-working) remote control light mouldings, it turns out they've been removed in the last month or so... Ah well..... 24

RMweb Premium newbryford Posted October 31, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted October 31, 2021 A quick visit to the work circular saw (Proxxon FET) and I have a kit of parts to reassemble. The joints need tidying up and then they're not too far off the paintshops.

I've hopefully got a 7mm HTA kit coming my way to do one in the next couple of weeks all being well.
RMweb Premium njee20 Posted November 12, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 12, 2021 You lucky OO gauge folks getting stuff out of Steve, spoiled! I used Pantone 361 on mine (because it's what I had), and it's not quite right, a bit light, but not a million miles off! Look forward to seeing yours Mick, as it'll look wayyyy less ropey than mine!
RMweb Premium Popular Post newbryford Posted November 14, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted November 14, 2021 (edited) With this second batch of four HRAs, I cut the chassis in a different place which meant that the air pipes running down one side couldn't easily be fixed back together. A few minutes work with a small drill [*] and some 22AWG brass wire and the missing section has been filled in. [*] A centre hole was created by using the point of a new scalpel blade and enlarged using a 0.3mm and 0.6 mm drill in a pin-vice. The primer highlights that I still need to to a tiny bit of tweaking on the main chassis member, The missing door bars will be refitted shortly.
