Later --- I have now sent a note to Southern's Customer Services saying I was impressed with her approach to her work. RMweb Gold ruggedpeak Posted April 22, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 22, 2023 (edited) Couple of sequential photos. Interesting positioning for photo-taking, especially in a 3rd rail environment! I suspect standing by the rail as the 2BIL is leaving for the sidings is probably not allowed today! UPDATED: According to this site (http://www.bropendays.co.uk/basingstoke1987.html) it was 26 September 1987, Basingstoke Open Day. I have other pictures of the locos on display that match. D200 was on a railtour to the event and D213 was on display so going to assume this is D200 on the move pending further research. The 2BIL was running a shuttle to Woking. RMweb Gold ruggedpeak Posted April 22, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 22, 2023 Looking south from Berwick upon Tweed station to the Royal Border Bridge. Obviously pre-electrification, I don't have a record of the date but wonder if these troughs were to do with that?

The Border Reiver
On 16 April 2009 I popped into Carlisle station to take a photo of the northbound 'Tesco' liner train. While I was there, I saw a group of people wating to get on a Northern 156 to Newcastle. Well, I couldn't resist taking this photo. I never saw Northern offering 'Personal Services' on their trains.... 😊 Edited June 7, 2023 by The Border Reiver typo 1
