steve fay
More sanding done today, I need to pick up some matt black spray and PVA tomorrow as I've run out. Another coat of chocolate and cream tomorrow, probably another on Monday by the looks of it too. I'm going to get a nice moulded edging strip for along the front and the Cardiff Totem is on the way. Kev_Lewis
The ballasting looks very realistic, Steve. Not sure about the backscene you've got at the moment though.
steve fay
Looks even better now the black weathering powders are going down. I quite like the back scene, don't you think it will go down well at exhibitions? The real one is awaiting a second coat of paint. Might have another booking for the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway model show. The smooth area is talk rubbed in then sprayed matt black, even though it dries with a sheen. The area closest to the front hasn't had a go over with powders yet. (Tomorrow's job ) I need to do around the chairs on the pits to tone the shine down a bit before I put the concrete papers on. I'm really enjoying this project and I keep having strange urges, To do an extension that is. I no, I need to concentrate on this one first. Kev_Lewis
Perhaps we need a photo with a loco to get the full effect? Keep up the good work.

ozzyo
I did not build that, it's missing the Lub pipes at the front right. When are we fitting the S.D.K. ? You are going to have to do something about the backsciene the flock paper just does not look like Cardiff to me. The track is starting to look the dogs dangley bits. Well done. OzzyO PS. Dave. C. would like some of these photos, all that glue. Edited April 8, 2013 by ozzyo
steve fay
88A Cardiff Cantons king no 6023 basks in the mid morning sun whilst being prepared for a Swansea to Manchester service. There seems to be a lack of train reporting numbers as the reporting code has been chalked on the smoke box door M75. She will work the train to Shrewsbury. Then a return service to Bristol Temple meads, Then return north to Pontypool road and then back to Cardiff around mid Night tonight.

steve fay
The track area is a bit shiny, I'm getting the black powders in and that is toning it down nicely. Ive got halogen spot lights in my kitchen and with these pointing straight down they do exaggerate the shine. I'm hoping my totem will arrive today. 81A Oldoak
image.jpg image.jpg Hudswell clarke 0.6.0 saddle tank Cwm Taff visits Cardiffs main locomotive shed for tyre turning. The cleaners have also given her a good clean! This is my dads loco and I'm using her to test all the track. Given the short wheel base if she works fine then the big locos should be OK. I do like this little loco and with a good weathering she could become a regular visitor. I like it too!
Kev_Lewis
The trackwork and ballasting are coming on very nicely. I think the general clutter looks particularly realistic.

steve fay
Cantons finest being prepped for the days work. Sorry for all the pictures but I've been waiting quite some time to take pics of my locos in a prototypical setting of my own. Last one, once Lightning is back from the Wizard I think these lot will look great shuffling about here. Oh and even better once the Earl is home.
