steve fay
First up I've been trying to replicate the part of the roof that was renewed and always looked cleaner than the rest of the wall A few years ago I had some of the GWR train reporting panels made up but they where over scale, I used fox transfers numbers on them and whilst they looked OK on the king and Brit they looked huge on the castle. So I got in touch with Pete Harvey to do them in the correct size, this is what you get; I sprayed the panels which are etched as a 3 piece, I assembled the mounting bracket using super glue, And once sprayed up on the loco, And again with the panel glued onto the mounting bracket, I used the same fox transfers. I'm now waiting another pack of transfers to do some suitable reporting numbers. The panels are now available from Pete Harvey.
steve fay
Making up some suitable panels this morning. The stairs starting to take shape, The steps are a @&£? To do, So I'm only doing a few at a time. I'm awaiting a delivery from speedy models now with some more plastic to finish them off.
Poggy1165
It looks great! You have sent me off to find a tape measure to see if I can fit in something similar as a high-level addition to my (planned) layout. I have rarely, if ever, seen such an impressive use of 6' x 2'. My only negative comment is that the beer bottles in the background of some of the shots appear a tad overscale.
steve fay
Wales, Rail and Ale is the theme of the bar. Thanks for the comments, I've tried to show with this project just what can be done in such a small space in 7mm and if I've inspired some one else to have a go then great. I've done a it more on the shed today and my delivery from Wheel spin models turned up so I can finish the stair case. I'm off to spend the weekend with some friends modelling on a slightly bigger layout and to give the Castle a good run.

daifly
I'm a bit worried about that RSJ. It doesn't look as if it's properly supported!
steve fay
I'm a bit worried about that RSJ. It doesn't look as if it's properly supported! Does look a bit precarious from that angle. Duly noted and will be sorted
steve fay
I had a spot of weathering done on my Dapol open Wagon over the weekend.
steve fay
Concrete walls today courtesy of kirtley model buildings. I need to get some more MIG weathering powders now to blend the edges in and to weather the foot bridge. Might get a bit more done on the steps tomorrow.
steve fay
I've added some mesh to the lower half of the bridge. After speaking to people who remember Canton well I decided to put it on. It's cut up frying pan anti splash screen. With thanks to Sir Oz of O for it. Sprayed it up this morning. Not sure why its upside down its not like that in my album Edited, should be right now. Edited June 13, 2013 by steve fay

steve fay
The 31 is off now to its new home so it's back to modelling. My daughters bought me a mikes models water crane for Father's Day so here we are, I scraped some of the sand back to get a flat surface and glued the crane in place. I've added new sand and talc around it. Once it's dry I will spray it all black and start to brush the matt black weathering powder.

steve fay
The white RSJ sticking up is the location of the signal, Here's a pic of my Brit, pictures of this loco have been a bit thin on the ground.
TheGhostofNigelGresley
This is excellent stuff Steve, right up my street. When or if you get a moment, any chance of a pic of the King, Castle and Brit all lined up on shed, but with some extra light on the subject Your pics seem to come out quite dark on my PC (maybe it focuses on the dark ash) and I feel like I'm missing out... Hope that's taken in the spirit it's intended - I need to drool over your engines, but I can't see them very well.....
