"February TrainMail - Model & Hobby show, Doncaster Enterprise and a cryptic clue"

Says the Email from Bachmann.

"......we will also reveal the identity of our next limited edition model, a 00 locomotive which must remain a secret for the time being, however any grey areas will be resolved by the time the next magazine appears on your doormat."

That's easy!

Has anyone else struggled to register for tickets for the day on the link provided from the Collectors' Club page? I can get to the point of entering my name and title (ie 'Mr') and then there's nowhere to go.

As to the new model, it's going to be an M&GN Class C 4-4-0 in original condition, so that modellers of the MR will have an 1808 Class to use, too.

And then he woke up!

Osimabu,

Just tried it again now. They've added an "apply" button on the second page - just press and you get an e:mail. Off to advance book train tickets!!

66434? formerly in Fastline Grey livery and now MALCOLM livery, the two previous DRS / MALCOLM locos have been produced by Bachmann; 66405 and 66412.

Something grey?

http://www.semgonline.com/steam/cclass_01.html

Shows what I was thinking of.

I don't honestly know if this was grey or black but Bachmann did produce their N class in grey as part of a ltd.ed. boxed pair a few years ago.

This assumes of course that "grey" was the cryptic clue.

We'll find out soon enough but a bit of harmless fun (and maybe a suggestion or two for the Bachmann CC)

According to http://www.dieseltraction.org.uk/html/fleet.htm Class 20 no. 20227, which is/was in Railfreight Grey, is having a repaint this month. I'm probably adding 2 and 2 together and making 5.

I don't wish to perpetuate any silly rumours but this

http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/68452-possible-new-lt-model-from-Bachmann/

suggests that the loco you mention may be coming from somewhere other than the Bachmann CC.

In which case how many other shades of grey are there?

excellent news......ticket booked so look forward to getting up nice and early, taking the 3 esses then a bracing 5 minute walk to the bus stop.  quick bus to town.  grab a Mcdonalds breakfast, quick read of the paper, then hop on the whacky racer to Bham then Pendolino to Coventry and finally grab a taxi out to the show.

If anyones particularly interested in all that flim flam, that is.......:)

A note from the Collectors' Club with instructions if you've not been notified yet:

Held in March each year, the Model & Hobby show previews the latest Branchline and Graham Farish products along with new announcements and product innovations from other manufacturers. Following on from the success of last year, we are once again pleased to be inviting club members to this prestigious and otherwise trade only event. With a great venue provided by Coventry Transport Museum, why not make a day of it and combine your visit with a look around the museum itself which is open until 5pm and offers free admission. You can find the venue at:

Coventry Transport Museum
Millenium Place

Hales Street

Coventry

CV1 1JD

Members wishing to attend must register for tickets at www.modelandhobbyshow.co.uk by clicking on 'club ticket registration' and entering their Collectors Club website login details. Your tickets which will be valid for Tuesday 12th March only, will then be emailed to you. Members will be invited at two intervals during the day to ease congestion and you will be advised of this by email closer to the event. Both your email ticket and Membership card must be presented on the day to gain entry to the show.

Bachmann Collectors’ Club members may not be aware that they can now use the club website to purchase our exclusive products. Any member wishing to attend the Model & Hobby show will need to be registered with the website to be able to apply for tickets. You can register with the website by visiting http://Bachmann-collectorsclub.co.uk/register.php When you have confirmed your details you will be sent a password which can then be used along with your membership number and email address to log into the Collectors’ Club website. This in turn allows you to safely and securely purchase exclusive club models and merchandise, and update your details and the same details will be required to apply for your tickets via the www.modelandhobbyshow.co.uk website.
