RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted July 12, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 12, 2014 Buy the good Cap'n a drink (or several) and he might assist? Kernow Enterprises presents 'GUIDED TOURS OF SOUTH HAMS BACKSCENE LOCATIONS' Yes, folks, for just the price of a pint of good beer, the Captain will escort you to a good vantage point where you too can take your own photographs of a great South Hams landscape. Genuinely close to the Dartbridge Inn and The Mogul's Palace curry house - what more could you want? So, what are we waiting for - here, let's take my car (but you'll have to drive me home afterwards!).
RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted July 13, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 13, 2014 Loving the photos Rob. Layout looks superb. Currently on trip to the Czech Republic. Exploring branch lines, the like of which disappeared in Britain nearly 50yrs ago. Scenery is very reminiscent of South Hams. Rolling hills etc..... Temp is mid 20s to mid 30s. Beer at 30p a pint and great food. Hell on earth.. Rob
RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted July 13, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 13, 2014 I think I've been sent to some sort of various timewarps today.Sitting on the fence overlooking the beautiful South Hams countryside I saw a variety of stock from different eras in one session.I hope you don't mind. We start in the summer of 1960 with BR class 9f 92220 'Evening Star' on a down parcel train.

It's not so much of a problem if you take it out of the tin before slapping it between 2 slices of bread, just make sure the boiler pressure is at zero before opening. RMweb Gold colin penfold Posted July 13, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 13, 2014 I hate to have to tell you this but I've a more than sneaking suspicion that the cows might be the wrong colour for the early post-war period. Should really be Red Devons for back then I do believe. Aah yes they might have been, but you must realise that very few farmers had a colour licence then so the Red Devons are in black and white In the words of the late great Eric Morecambe...... Who's got short fat hairy legs then? Just got back from a week away and I have to say that backscene is superb. I am really happy with the quality of photos I've taken for mine, but if I get it blended in anywhere near as well as you have I will be delighted! Can you say where you got the printing done?

kevinklein
The pure Holstein Breed Society was started in 1946 in Great Britain, following the British Friesian Cattle Society. The breed was developed slowly up to the 1970s, after which there was an explosion in its popularity, and additional animals were imported. More recently, the two societies merged in 1999 to establish Holstein UK. what we see in the background is undoubtedly the breeding herd of the renowned but unpopular pioneer of modern cattle breeding, dr. loathby scatters-judd
