Marcus 37
My usual tipple is vodka and coke, but on very special occasions, vodka, tia maria and baileys is quite "relaxing"! Cheers, Mick Relaxing??? Isn't that drink commonly known as an Org*s*m. LOL. Although I must admit it is a nice(expensive) combination. More stunning work with the graffiti Jaz. Just gets better and better. Marcus
Marcus 37
Knowing how much Kal likes his GBRf 66s. Managed to drag this one from Birmingham to Peterborough this morning. This is one of the Ex German examples. A few detail differences such as the lights, horn box and duplicate brake and main res pipes. Oh and square buffers.........very continental. Cheers Marcus

Vodka, Baileys and Tai Maria is often referred to as a mudslide, or muddy water, because that's what it looks like........... (Having said that, the above is also called a muddy water on some websites) Either way, it goes down smoothly and then comes back with just a tiny reminder that there's a lot of alcohol in it! Jaz
We also met with ess1uk. And it turns out he and Kal have a lot in common, with their work history. Kal pointed out with him not living too far away he should come around some time and 'play trains'
Jaz
Reference the chat with Mick, we spent a while discussing his Le Chat graffiti......I posted this on his thread......... Just loved the Le Chat graffiti, and seeing the other wagons of his you have referenced. Sad to hear his is now dead, which makes the ones you have done a piece of social history. and a testament to his existence and some of his work.Especially as thee is evidence some of them are being blanked out. Although I am fairly sure copy cats will carry out his tradition on the railway. There appears to be at least two other versions of his work using the Le Chat name. One now has a big fat smile and shows the whole cat albeit still in yellow..... rather than one looking you have researched i.e. the over the top of the wall a la Kilroy was here!, and the other has a cat face in more realistic colours.... Even graffiti has a place in art history. It's a bit like marmite....you love it or hate it.....but you can't deny it's existance. http://westmidlandsgraffiti.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/sad-news-has-reached-us-that-le-chat.html Two other Le Chat graffiti http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&docid=4giFA6yb1l8czM&tbnid=S_-Bm3EU_1RFJM:&ved=0CAUQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fsfreydier.canalblog.com%2Farchives%2F2012%2F07%2F10%2F24678387.html&ei=ZO7dU7ziMoOc0QX1_YCgAw&psig=AFQjCNEE8SWosU6gzYfNlsw0U8I5_O6mUQ&ust=1407139687013945 http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&docid=4giFA6yb1l8czM&tbnid=S_-Bm3EU_1RFJM:&ved=0CAUQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fculturebox.francetvinfo.fr%2Fexpositions%2Fpeinture%2Fcopy-cat-a-saint-claude-m-chat-rentre-au-musee-133747&ei=tu7dU6mBH-eh0QWB7IG4Dw&psig=AFQjCNEE8SWosU6gzYfNlsw0U8I5_O6mUQ&ust=1407139687013945 and http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_cW7klGi5Ui4/TN4JtECO_2I/AAAAAAAABls/OIZ-62iMXVA/s320/le+chat.jpg They don't seem to do railway work tho..... Jaz
Further to our Wrecrail visit here are some picture with some small gems that caught my eye First one in on the right.....we had a look at this one a coupe of times, and one time George was nearby and Kal and here were discussing the real station, as we once lived not too far away. rmweb2692wrecrail2014c Bedlam George is behind....unfortunately I did not realise I had chopped off his head as I was after the Layout Title....ooops Loved the detailing here where he had cut the wagon open and shown the coal being shovelled out....obviously the worker had taken a break... rmweb2690wrecrail2014a possible taking a ciggie break somewhere.... some nice detailing, and George explained why he chose to move the bridge for this 'guitar' layout....because the one in the correct direction was basically boring...can't argue with that!!! rmweb2691wrecrail2014b love the signals and colouring.....
ess1uk
I liked the Down Sidings layout, but didn't get any photos. It was great to meet with everyone yesterday.
Jaz
Next to Bedlam Heath was rmweb2693wrecrail2014d Trevor Hurley I was particularly taken with this easy to steal......ooops...... I mean copy idea of tin foil turned into a sugar cube to represent crushed cars..... I would probably add some paint to each sheet representing the colour of the car..and perhaps a small car item hanging out...but have not seen the idea before and thought it rather ingenious rmweb2694wrecrail2014e Kal and I we both impressed with the colouring here rmweb2696wrecrail2014g and a close up rmweb2695wrecrail2014f and this unloved little area just oozes atmosphere rmweb2697wrecrail2014h Edited August 3, 2014 by Jaz
Jaz
Dudley Road....sorry no sign.....by Pete Harvey http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/user/6665-pete-harvey/ the man behind PHD design http://www.phd-design-etchings.co.uk/index.htm had an exquisite folding deck chair and bbq he bashed up for his own layout this picture does not do it justice rmweb2698wrecrail2014i he also personalised his scenic loads with Castle and Blue Circle logos...dont you just love the man in the cab.... rmweb2699wrecerail2014 the area at the front was adapted by him mixing bits and bobs from different sources rmweb2700wrecerail2014k and the concrete at the back...is of interest to us. I have recently done some under our single shed. But still need to do some on the other side of Kalboro near the tunnels....so took a good look at this. nice weathering rmweb2701wrecrail2014l
Jaz
rmweb2701wrecrail2014O Shaun Greet has some lovely detailing rmweb2699wrecrail2014O apologies for the glare, but due to someone knocking the front of the layout the owner had to put in protection. I like his work with the coal rmweb2700wrecrail2014n the point lever rmweb2702wrecrail2014l particularly liked the tank weathering rmweb2703wrecrail2014m not bad on the diesel either...... rmweb2704wrecrail2014n I've seen a better picture of the crane...light has such an impact rmweb2705wrecrail2014o and I liked the small water butt rmweb2706wrecrail2014p Lovely gems if you just stop and browse....... Kal
Welcome back Kal mate. That 101 sounds good. Pics. Pics? Or even a video Thanks Mate, yep gonna sort through, there has been a few things arrived over the last 6 weeks, that have not even left their boxes, so after I finish clearing a space and finding my tools etc, i shall start adding some stuff. The insulation is slowly progressing, but ...while it is cooler up there, the air quality in the old loft is not the best. I will get around to a velux or two, but also I have an aircon to fit so that should improve things a lot. I have half been waiting a little on getting the fiddle yards done in the old loft. I hate taking things in and out of boxes, I really want to be able to put them on and leave them on the layout unless I am servicing or improving them. So that has stifled my passion bit. Jaz has cleared up my control desk upstairs now, so I am running out of excuses to switch it all on and start profiling some more trains. Jaz
more from Wrecrail 2014 rmweb2797wrecrail2014q by Steve Farmer this N gauge layout has a lot of fine detail rmweb2708wrecrail2015 and part of it was this superb hospital rmweb2709wrecrail2016 he has used BRUTEs for laundry baskets.....superb piece of modelling....especially when you con side he made it for N gauge. Jaz
rmweb2710wrecrail2017 Pete Johnson another N gauge because of the white this has not photographed too well...I should have taken a longer picture....in the room with the whole of the layout visible it looked much better Edited August 4, 2014 by Jaz
Jaz
I did not get picture of the other layouts, not even of the show winner, as when I was in the vicinity looking there was not a clear view for taking pictures.
