Alcanman
12 noon on Friday 18th July with GBrf 66707 powering the North Blyth - Ferrybridge Power Station at Newsham (Blyth & Tyne) Af 4.00pm on the same day EWS 66183 with the West Burton Power Station - North Blyth, aproaches Newsham South level crossing. Sad to think that in 1961, the Port of Blyth held the record for coal exportation of almost 7 million tons! Today coal is imported and loaded at the spendidly named 'Battleship Wharf' facility at North Blyth, close to the Alcan loading facility. At least we are still able to see coal trains heading south to power stations. Mal

Peter Kazmierczak
Why have one Cl.66 when you can have three..... 66416 having a bit of a wash, 66505 doing a spot of shunting and 66542 between duties.

Alcanman
Yesterday afternoon a very colourful Gbrf 66720 arrived at Battleship Wharf, North Blyth. The coal loading facility is very simple, just one track and a run-around. Mal
Alcanman
I ordered this 66 from Hattons yesterday. Couldn't believe my luck when 66731 turned up at Battleship Wharf, North Blyth today! I know Hattons have a good reputation for fast delivery..... After waiting in the loop at Freeman's crossing due to the late running Gbrf , Freightliner with 66512 leading heads for Battleship Wharf minutes later. Alcanman
I thought I'd try some video for a change. Here's a 1 minute video of GBRf 66735 on the 6S45 North Blyth - Fort William Alcan PCAs on Saturday 26th July 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDQhv_vgx18 Mal
159220
I spent my afternoon procrastinating and found this on Twitter. 66416 in Powerhaul. I note that Freightliner have not got carried away with the grey down the front this time...as per 66504. Improvement? https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bt5CmqKCIAAKuU7.jpg:large
Steadfast
I'd hardly call it an improvement. Just different. Needs more yellow I think the side logo looks far too small, lost in the sea of green jo Edited July 31, 2014 by ewsjo

Alcanman
12 noon today. GBRf 66733 has left the coal loading terminal at Battleship Wharf, North Blyth on time at 11.50am and is passing Freeman's Crossing with 6H89 for Ferrybridge P.S. Minutes later, same location, but in the opposite direction, Freightliner 66510 heads for Battleship Wharf with coal empties from York South Yard. and, at 4.00pm today EWS turned up with 66025 powering the West Burton PS coal empties through Newsham, also heading for Battleship Wharf.
