I didn't take many photos when i was a teenage spotter and most were awful, but I've just found and scanned some that are just about fit to be seen.

Here is some further NSW locomotives

J&A Brown #5 The Major, ex-Mersy 0-6-4T down at Thirlmere ('scuse the smudge on the camera!)

post-14921-0-43451100-1375591634_thumb.jpg

NSW Long Boiler E18, B/N 1542 of 1866. It is interesting to note this is seven years older than '1001' 1275 in the NRM.

post-14921-0-68736100-1375591646_thumb.jpg

NSWGR 3137 and 3001TS. The tender 30 class (30T) were rebuilt from redundant 30 class tanks, hence the same numbering. It is possible to see the similarities between the two types in the side by side shot.

post-14921-0-14708000-1375593580_thumb.jpg

NSWGR 4461, owned by QUBE rail. It is interesting that between the two photos (November 11th and March 3rd), the locomotive was repainted from original Red Terror livery into new paint.

1920s built NSWGR Bradfield Electric car C3045. This was a Hornsby maintained set, designated by the H on the 'Target Plate'. The H set is now used for OSCARs.

NSWGR Standard Goods D55 class 5595. This class were built with Southern Valvegear, which was rather unusual.

post-14921-0-86875300-1375593750_thumb.jpg

NSWGR D59 class 5910. Another one of the class (5917) is due to be back on the mainline later this year hopefully.

And the following are from a few freinds albums

NSWGR Silver City Comet power car No. 104, slowly being worked on at the RTM.

Australian Iron and Steel D1 class leader D1 on the new turntable.

NSWGR CPH 'Tin Hare' railcar No. 18 in 1920s wooden finish condition.

Not sure if I can pass this off as a "portrait" but it is one of my favourite photos from the Talyllyn Railway...

Prairie?

Probably the same joker who painted, lined and lettered it. Rumour has it that it was someone from Hornby's Chinese supplier.

Nick

Quite right Nick but 99.9% of the P&D customers are holidaymakers who wouldn't know or care. The coaches are named as well and were quite packed even on a sunny day with everyone on the beach. If Hornby do a tie up with them ,hardly likely,I'd buy a model of 5239 for sentiments sake even with the inaccuracies.

I fully appreciate that the gimicky names and pretty liveries are aimed at the tourist trade, and that we purists should be content with seeing two 2-8-0 tanks in fine working order.

I suppose we should just be grateful that Lydham Manor was outshopped in an authentic livery. That said her boiler ticket expires next year so watch this space..........BR Passenger Blue anyone? I would also add they have done a cracking job with the signal box style offices at Kingswear (see below).

Andy.
