Hints of the original number showing despite the crude attempt to paint over, blue data panel and generally grubby condition would make an interesting model!

And here it is a little earlier passing through Brighouse, 47593 Galloway Princess leading 47712 Lady Diana Spencer working as 1Z60, Ayr to Scarborough, The Statesman rail tour.

At this point the rail tour was +81 minutes.  I understand that the delay was due to the failure of 47712 at Kilmarnock.  I assume that 47593 had, fortunately, originally been included in a 'Top 'n' Tail' formation to aid reversal of the rail tour for the return journey from Scarborough.

In the event, 47593 worked the rail tour back solo as 1Z61, Scarborough to Ayr, seen approaching Brighouse in the early evening.

If it's of interest, from a TOPS list it would seem as though 47712 has been left at Scarborough and is due to be recovered tomorrow (29th May) by this;

Outward light locomotive

0Z47 Crewe Holding Sidings to Scarborough Excursion Sidings

Return light locomotive + 47712

0Z21 Scarborough Excursin Sidings to Crewe Holding Sidings
