georgeT
Hello Al, Thanks for the comment, l would love dirty brick but would it be in Dorset, where its not so cold and damp ? the next layout l build will be based up in the grim north with dirty warehouses etc etc like Jasons Bacup, and Tetley mills, George
georgeT
Morning Bodgit, Glad to hear you are getting back to your old self at last, l was looking at the pictures on Ray and Pollys (Great west road) site and was shocked to see 34016 'Bodmin' with her nameplates removed and in a very poor state in the sidings at Ropley, l also believe they are getting rid of her, cant believe she was the pride of the line when we used to visit ? N15class
George the brewery at Blandford is brick, they are not the sort of places to be built from stone. But would have stone embellishments.

Here's a photo I found of a brewery in Devon: The Old Brewery, Uffculme What do you reckon? Al.

georgeT
Hello Bodgit, Glad to hear you are feeling better, and after our chat tonight l downloaded the pictures but l must have changed the size of the photos as they are too big for putting on the RMweb so l will have to re-size them tomorrow as there is a pint or two of Carling calling me..hahaha George
georgeT
Just downloaded some pictures from Ropley taken last week, also they have taken 34016 'Bodmin' away to Carnforth for restoration for main line working, but they still have 34007 'Wadebridge & 34105 'Swanage' there, plus a schools & Lord Nelson, plus various wagons, only had a couple of hours

bobster
Very nice pics George - it has to be 34007 "Wadebridge" as my favourite, with the Schools close behind, but love them all really. Cheers, Bob.
Andrew P
Wadebridge has to be my favorite as my Parents were married in (EDIT FOR CORRECTION) went there Dancing on a Saturday Night during the War, (Wadebridge the Town not the Loco I hasten to add) hahah. Married at St Kew Highway. Nice George, now I must get one and of course un rebuilt Plymouth where I was born.
georgeT
Hello lads, l think we all have our favourite Bulleid, mine was 34002 'Salisbury' l will have to get a few Bulleids for 'Ashcombe'..l think the schools and the Nelson would look much better in BR Green ?.... George
bobster
Hi George - Your pic of Wadebridge is the one I like best, but like you 34002 Salisbury is my favorite Bullied - For some reason you don't see many pics of 34002, don't know why, but that seems to be the case, maybe she was scarce at the time. Cheers, Bob.
georgeT
Hello Bob, Yes l didn't cop 'Salisbury' very much either, and when l did she was filthy, shame we could not afford cameras in those days with our pocket money. also had a few hours at Brighton Station while SWMBO looked round the shops, Heres a few more pictures from Ropley, it was very, very hot and the sun was very bright, so l could not take many shots at the rear of the shed only the black five that was facing away from the sun, other locos on shed were a 70000 'Britannia', 9f 92212 and some trains. Also they are building another building on the other platform.. George
bobster
Very nice George - Nice railway the Mid Hants. Cheers, Bob.
georgeT
Good Evening Bob, One of the best in my opinion, me and Bodgit have spent many happy hours there, won't be the same without Bodmin ... George
Jock67B
George, Lovely sharp images - do you have any idea what the flat wagon in the station building shot is going to become? Being a G&SWR fan, I really prefer different colour locos but, having said that, steam is always attractive whatever the region and I always loved the Pacifics! As a matter of interest, what camera do you use? Look forward to the next episode of 'Ashcombe' - a very enterprising idea to build your own brewery! Hahaha! Kind regards, Jock. Jock67B
Afternoon George, It has just occurred to me that you or Bodge might have had experience of making up SMP plastic based points. I have just discovered four unopened 00 nominal 36 in radius in a box that hasn't been opened for over 30 years! With a tight modelling budget, it would make sense to use them rather than fork out for Peco code 75 versions but I am not confident about the soldering as it looks as if it would be easy to melt the plastic sleepers. Any ideas? Sorry to be a pest, Kind regards, Jock.
georgeT
Hello Francis, l only took a few as l found the sun far too bright, and most things were in the sun.. George
