LNER4479
It is and I have promised not to fart in bed as a token of my undying love for my long suffering Mrs... I trust that she's promised not so to do likewise...?!(!)
RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted February 13, 2016 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted February 13, 2016 Only 2 late off Retford and now only 1 down at Carlton Loop. Sounded very 'loud' up Gamston but the 47 security blanket decided to join in and that spoiled things somewhat. Goodnight. Nice dose of Spam though. Dr Gerbil-Fritters
I may have seen the topmost smokey bits of two black fives peeking over the wall at Sheffield Midland this afternoon at around 2.05pm as I drove east bound past the station. It seemed rude to abandon the car in the middle of Park Square round about so I could have a leisurely look.... Anyone know for sure what they were? Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Lovely, even if half the valve gear is missing and the boiler is the wrong shape I was thinking more of BoB... and half a BoB... I always liked the rebuilds better, thinking the spamcans looked half done. Still, at least it's not a Caprotti Five eh?

Something to do with old codgers in the Holmfirth area - see also http://www.uksteam.info/tours/t16/t0214b.htm, and this dog might know something about it too. It was a whole hour late through the Hope Valley, otherwise I'd have had a photo from the top of Millstone Edge, but impending frostbite led us down to Grindleford station cafe. HeeleyBridge
I was going to take a trip to the bottom of the road to see the Jub & Black5. It was absolutely freezing and trying to snow / hailing so I listened to the cricket instead. Maybe next time.

Apparently, it was late starting from Preston and this just got worse as the train was required to pull in to loops to allow other scheduled trains to pass. Some people amongst those waiting appeared to have inside knowledge of where the Tin Bath had got to. Were they just friends with contacts in a signal box or is there a website with live times for steam specials? Does anyone know please?
Clearwater
Rob Ukmainlinesteam.info gives some useful info http://www.uksteam.info/tours/trs16.htm You can put that data into realtime trains ( http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced) and follow the train from there Personally I find it easy to start with real time trains, put that on detailed view and find the train in question from there. You can then click on it and it will tell you he scheduled path David Edited February 15, 2016 by Clearwater

Best thing is if you get an unexpected guest, you can chop off one leg and it will grow another! Btw, our genial host seems quiet. Hope all ok with him!
