One of the things you notice from videos of layouts is the speed trains are driven at. Do the exhibition attendees think trains have to run at a scale 100mph?

And slowing to a halt/accelerating from a halt is also a bit hit and miss.

DCC can help with this but it isn't always used to advantage in this area.

and another video - note the sky outside the club rooms..hence the need for station lights

A Brassmasters 4F (belongs to Innocentman) and a Bachmann Peak (D1) plus trains....

Looking good. Can't wait to see it at Chapel in Feb.

We are heading towards a full kit built/heavily modified fleet of steam locomotives for the layout. New kit built coaches are also appearing as these give us more variety of stock.

But, thank goodness for the RTR ICI hoppers. A rake of 16 fulls and 16 empties makes the layout more realistic.

Bit of a disaster today.. Set off to fit some signal motors. 4 new Wiessman motors...1 works 3 don't ..a bit of investigation required....

But Innocentman made a good start on wiring up the yard lamps..despite the club rooms being freezing!

Trying to sort out which coach goes where on the layout ..  and transferring that into a stock box layout as well as a "train working" layout.....

Sorry to be pedantic, but that's not an un-rebuilt Royal Scot. It is in fact a Patriot Class, sometimes referred to as a Baby Scot.

Davey

Sorry a slip of a Pat not a Scot..close but no cigar for that one...

Take the end caps off and make sure that the operating wire hasn't come adrift from the solenoid.

Great to finally see the layout today, and to have a chat with a few old friends.

Interesting that the fiddle yard is getting a lot of attention too, so much interesting stock back there.

Pontyfract is always a lovely show to visit.
