woodenhead
Suits the livery but it might confuse punters who think it is a passenger carrying vehicle.
wombatofludham
I like the way they've catered for partially sighted drivers by painting the cab door a contrasting colour. Now that might confuse some punters, I'm fairly sure the Accessibility regs only cover doors that are public access to the passenger saloon.
Pete 75C
Suits the livery but it might confuse punters who think it is a passenger carrying vehicle. Every time a Gatwick Express got signal-checked at East Croydon, much amusement was to be had watching people trying to get into the GLV. They were particularly confused by the inwards-opening doors. Shouldn't laugh, but it passed the time... I also think it looks pretty stylish and makes a nice change from some of the "child's felt pen" liveries that are out there. Time and dirt will tell. RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted April 12, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 12, 2014 I don't think Great Anglia has a good visual image at moment in time. A Norwich express passed me the other day with coaches in four liveries. The ONE blue livery, the National Express diagonal striped grey, the GA intermediate off white and the new white livery. What a mess. I am really looking forward to seeing a whole train in the new white livery.
RMweb Gold colin penfold Posted April 12, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 12, 2014 it will be the splattery grey livery from day two onwards though won't it. It will look like George Dent had run amok with an airbrush by Day

Xerces Fobe2
Nice to see a more business like livery and no pink! XF
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted April 12, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 12, 2014 The passengers doors are bright red (on the coaches) so there should be little chance of confusion, certainly less than the current all blue livery.

Yes but the red and white may make some people think that they are London Underground trains!
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted April 13, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 13, 2014 Yes but the red and white may make some people think that they are London Underground trains! The give away they aren't may be the Norwich / Diss / Ipswich / etc. station signs though. I don't believe anyone has tried swiping their Oyster card at Sheringham yet - even though the 156s are already in red / white.

Catkins
I thought it was Cromer for crabs, and the only station facilities at Sheringham aren't served by Greater Anglia (yet!)

Pete 75C
I thought it was Cromer for crabs :) Ask anyone born and bred in Sheringham* what they think of that... * Not me, I'm an imported townie. Edit: If Network Rail haven't reached Sheringham yet, God knows what I caught to Norwich on Thursday, I'm sure it wasn't a bus!
Catkins
Dear Lifeboatman, I used to work for a specialist food supplies company who used to buy raw crabs from Cromer. As for the station facilities, I was talking about a proper station with a booking office, toilets and a proper waiting room - not a bus shelter (however I am hoping to be corrected on that point). As for what you caught, Metro-Cammell did build buses - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MCW_Metrobus
'CHARD
That hardly merits the word livery, to be honest! So in this regard, it's fantastic. And probably fantastically impractical too.

cornish trains jez
The new livery certainly looks smart. Looking forward to seeing a complete rake of these which by the looks of things won't be long as the repainting process seems to be in full swing. wombatofludham
I think it looks quite Belgian. Perhaps the Dutch borrowed the livery from their neighbours?
scorpion
Hmmm, debranded One livery with NatEx stripe plus abellio branding hauling GA liveried stock, what chance a standard liveried fleet before the next twist
Pete 75C
Slightly OT, but I noticed a 170 substituting the usual Sprinter at Sheringham a couple of times last week. Does anyone know the protocol for a 3-car serving a 2-car capacity platform, I'm assuming the doors on one carriage can be locked off?
