stewartingram
Definitely a train (+loco) on the left in the sidings. Not far enough over for the Bletchley line. That's my old school playing field! 5 2
RMweb Gold Market65 Posted April 7 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 7 Good evening, David. That’s a fantastic selection of photo’s from around Morpeth in the early 1980’s. The first photo’ of a Class 37 to Blyth and Tyne, in August, 1980, is a superb three quarter portrait shot of the locomotive. It is well weathered too. The black and white photo’s at Trumpington, in 1948, are a truly remarkable set. The last photo’ of a D16 on an up passenger train from Cambridge to Liverpool St. is a true gem as the locomotive is seen storming away with it’s train of a horsebox and some non corridor carriages. With warmest regards, Rob.

RMweb Gold Market65 Posted April 8 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 8 Good evening, David. That’s a great selection of photo’s from around Gateshead. C6361, at Gateshead Bensham, with a Class 37 on a westbound ballast train, in January, 1984, is a most atmospheric and well captured photo’ of a once everyday sight on BR. The photo’s at Bottesford are a superb set. C5854, of a four car unit comprised of Classes 105 and 114, on a Nottingham to Skegness service, in August, 1982, is a well composed photo’, and I just hope the guard was okay with him looking out of the open door in the Cravens DMBS. RMweb Premium New Haven Neil Posted April 9 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 9 Interesting in C7128 is the 3 car MetCam, in all the years I went up and down there I can never, ever recall seeing a 3 car set! 4 car on the Carlisles years ago, yes, but never noticed a 3. I suppose my head dismissed them al as 2 cars sets, I spent a fair bit of time in 'boxes south from there down the Sunderland line (#cough the signalman mate is no longer with us so can't get him in trouble) too, the 'boro trains were usually 4 cars, but a pair of 2's!

RMweb Gold Market65 Posted April 9 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 9 Good evening, David. That’s a great selection of photo’s from Switzerland, at Rheineck, on the 7th August, 1991. C16197, of SBB Tmi, 424, is a delightful and well composed shot of the locomotive. The photo’s from Scotland, at Burnmouth, are an excellent set. J3995, of a Class 40, on an up freightliner service, in August, 1974, is a superb photo’, and well composed by your Dad. That first photo’ as stated by keefer, is more than likely some kind of extra service, especially going by the use of Mkl carriages in addition to the headcode used.
