We will now turn our attention to the railbus as it departs back to Doncaster.

All three passengers are safely on board.

The signal has turned green and off they go.

016a.jpg.45db736b31b506b0062b55cf6dd74ab6.jpg

It looks very lonely with all that space around it.

This is how commuter terminus should look, with the help of the North London EMUs.

009a.jpg.43b586e4dc29223159546a662dac4e14.jpg

The BR standard is all set to depart.

010a.jpg.3e5cc0c68458e5c737882cfbce19d99e.jpg

As is the LMS GEC train.

011a.jpg.507fa41b804fb5f2503a294bb74779bd.jpg

The old Airfix (and these are Airfix not Dapol) coaches are so adaptable.

018a.jpg.8354b197dd9bbc198b6758838693c5d9.jpg

Simultaneous departures.

019a.jpg.30249d13e3fc7b30df551a4d6fd33e84.jpg

As viewed from the new tall office tower. 021a.jpg.224ce69d87ea47c2f3517d917a1d4744.jpg

Just for this photo the GEC unit is on its way to Richmond and the Class 501 to Watford.

See the fun you can still have even if the layout and trains are only part built.

Dublin Control, the phone rings;

'control here'

'ah, control now you know that test train, the one where we're trying to match power units and run them in DPU mode... we've a spot of bother.  You'll need to send the rerailing gang.  And Gerald the Crane.'

20190807_170657.jpg.4b6e64551a71fd71586872cde2547d7a.jpg

DCC consisting is not as easy as I thought.

In other news, when I'm not driving like a wazzock I now have a fully functional model railway - terminus to staging yard, plus a sneaky track for roundy roundy naughtiness.

Back to the other night running stuff not normally seen.

Some shots of the WR DMUs out on the main line.

Passing the Doncaster sidings

And now whizzing by the Manchester carriage yard.

There nice, got any Blue ones for sale? haha.

Hi Doc

It will sort itself out, or you will have to.

That is good news you now have functioning model railway.

I wonder what one of them their 071s would look like in BR green? Of course with a small yella panel.

Now if Hattons of Swad hadn't sold the last six or seven he had then he wouldn't be asking me.

I do have a blue one but that is a nearly finished.....note nearly.......Lea Valley set (class 125 to our younger readers)  to compliment my GER line overhead EMUs.

I am not sure my phone camera can take action shots.

Please no technical replies, they will just whizz past me like the train did.

That's a good EMU selection, very envious... are they coming to stretch their legs when TLFKAWL is back up and running? (Storage racking erected and populated in workshop earlier today ready for the layout to fit around it. Spoken with Mr Horn, looking at a couple of weeks before we can get the van to bring the layout home :) )

I do hope Tim is not hiring the same van he did for the Glasgow show, the photos as other exhibitors passed him broken down on the side of the motorway did look funny quite distressing.

I am only running a limited service tonight, well only two trains circulating as I am mudel making.  The two trains are both five coach sets of LMS non gangway stock. On has one of my magic Fairburn 2-6-4 Ts on its front on their way to Leeds. They are made from unfinished Airfix/Dapol lavatory non-gangway coaches. The other train has the converted class 27 pulling it, and it made up from the lovely Hornby models proceeding to Bradford. Guess which train I like. Four of the Hornby coaches were bought at the same time and are one version of BR crimson come maroon and the fifth one is in yet another version of their crimson or maroon, none are one colour or the other but the newest one is darker.

The loco , a BR Standard 4 tank, that brought in the ECS for the Bradford stock has arrived bunker first and is going to shunted on to the loco sidings but will not be coaled or watered as it is going to take a soon to arrive express set of coaches to the carriage sidings.

I am slowly getting use to the signals. The trouble is I cannot see what aspect they are showing when I am stood at the control panel.

I have said I am model making, I am assembling the cut and shut Gresley coaches.........badly.

Back to that coach that is the different wrong colour. Following what others have said on the multitude of threads about the Bachmann and Hattons bust up,  well I am going to never buy another Hornby coach or buy from the retailer it came from.

That is until next time I want a Hornby coach and they are the cheapest I can find...but that will be different to how I feel now!!!!!!!
