themagicspanner
Thanks guys. I'm pretty pleased with the way this project has turned out - I've learned loads and enjoyed most of the aspects of modelling in P4. There are a few wee jobs to get done but after that I think I'll get started on my next layout... Mike
60091
More fantastic images. I thought they couldn't get much better than the BDA outside the sheds, then saw the one of the Class 26 from the front - fantastic. Even though it hasn't been weathered yet, it doesn't look out of place. Cheers Alan
themagicspanner
Thanks Alan, Those are probably my two favourites from the latest batch, and you're right about the head-on shot of the 26, it just looks right - even without weathering (which is now high on my list of things to do). Dbr1295
Hi Mike, Some great photos. This is a really neat layout that really catches the atmosphere of urban grot. With the light in the pictures it gives an impression of a miserable winters day and I think that is what makes it stand out from other similar layouts, plus of course some great modelling. Looks good in both colour and B&W.The second photo is brilliant, it certainly made me look twice. Cheers, Les
themagicspanner
Les, It's always nice to make folk take a second look at a photo. The dull winter's day was what I was aiming for right from the start so I'm glad that's how people are seeing it. Thanks, Mike
Grimleygrid
Superb modelling, first class. Loving the puddle! Well to be honest, not just the puddle, it is a cracking layout with lots of great modelling! Well done Sir, great job.

themagicspanner
Thanks everyone. The next wee job is to add more 'stuff' to the loading platform and the finish off the scrub behind. Might manage a wee session tonight. Mike
Jock67B
Evening Mike, superb and realistic images as usual, Any idea what you plan to do next? Kind regards, Jock.
themagicspanner
Thanks Jock. I'm not sure. Maybe a micro 7mm layout designed around the Minerva Peckett E Class or for a bit more of a challenge, a JLTRT Class 08 (I do love an 08). The other option is to convert some of my N gauge stock to 2mmFS and have a shot at that... ...or I could build something else in P4, maybe using some of the Colin Craig turnout kits. Jock67B
Mike, Whatever you choose, it's certain to produce a thread that will be well worth following and I'll be there! Kind regards, Jock.

Alcanman
Superb modelling, great to catch up with Thorburns again. I'm planning a small inglenook layout at the moment and Thorburns has convinced me that 2 points will suffice - 'less is more' IMHO. Mal
themagicspanner
Thanks Mal. Two points is more than enough in a small space. I think my next layout will have that number or fewer! Mike
themagicspanner
Mal, It was your own layout, Springburn Yard that convinced me to build something of this size in 4mm. I'd forgotten about that until I checked out your signature. Mike

themagicspanner
Thanks John. Not sure where I'm going with the next project. Priced up a JLTRT Class 08 this morning: All in it comes close to £500 so not sure it's going to be based around one of those! Might have to be a P4 depot as I've got a 37 and a 56 waiting for conversion... It might even be based on this place. Alcanman
Thanks Paul, Here's another one for you. Mike Great atmospheric shot Mike. Could I ask what you use to tie down the pipe load on the BDA. I intend to have a couple of loaded BDAs on my my next layout. Mal

They've started to go a bit loose now but nothing that can't be fixed. Mike
