An early morning knock on the door from Norman's good friend, Ivo Peterborough, heralded another early morning trip to Sheep Lane.

Swift progress, as always, in Ivo's Bentley scattered the geese at Dip Down, passing the Duck and Cover public house en route.

 

On arrival they saw their quarry, a Beattie Well tank. Not as Julia, Ivo's daughter called it, a 'Beastly Well tank'.

 

Driver John Mills, assisted by fireman Sam Kidd positioned the well tank for Ivo and Norman whilst Julia picked wild flowers in Sheep Meadow.

 

Here then are a few images.

That Well Tank crew often forget where they are and start shouting random things such as  "U Boat 80* off Starboard; depth charge.......fire!"
