There is of course somewhere else that would satisfy your needs for a layout on a shelf, the real thing is too. Also open landscape, bleak moorland with a very southwesterly outlook, weeds, lamp posts, sheep. AND Panniers.

All with a suitably ovine title...

Morning all.

Not much to report. Late finish last night. Tad jaded today.

In light of this it's probably best to avoid anything too tricky modelling wise.

One thing I could manage is a spot of planning using rtp buildings and

The

Improvised

Table

Top

Idea

Estimation

Schematic.

or T.I.T.T.I.E.S for short.

Looks like a superb building, in fact all the buildings you use are, I on the other hand have tried to use one, there seems to be nothing I can do to improve it, it's way too big, in fact we've decided it must be to S scale, and the stone just looks terrible. Plasticard has been cut...

Some of the issues may arise from catering for stock sat on Code 100 track.

Generally speaking, in my opinion at least, Bachmann's Scenecraft buildings just have the edge over Hornby' Skaledale offerings.

My recent endeavours have revolved around improving some of Hornby's buildings.

That said, I have noticed a slight hiccup with the new goods shed.........

Roughly speaking, the brick platform is fine heightwise. However, add the wooden bit on top.......

I think it's too much to sand so some 5mm will have to be filleted off the brick base.

Ho hum.

Would it be too much work to raise the trackwork by 5mm? That would give the opportunity for a little more relief to be introduced to the scenic area.

Just wonderin'.

Maybe this was a little too subtle for a Sunday morning after the Saturday night. I've added a little help for you.

I know Pencarrot ( Too Many Spams of the parish ) laid a trackbed of 5mm foam board on his latest 00 effort.

Food for thought.......

Surely that should be "Fully Automatic Railway Train" - or it was in my younger days, till someone in athority realised what the acronym was. The project names was then changed to "Fully Automatically Controlled Train".

And that is a true - FACT.

I think I've mentioned before that we once tried to create a position in a new organisation called Area Rolling Stock & Overhead Line Engineer.

I have in the past been involved with pipeline installation and repair, chiefly, welding. On the North sea oil platforms, there is often the need for underwater welded repairs and alterations.

This as you can imagine, is one of the most hazardous tasks on earth. The combination of oil, electricity, red hot metal and compressed oxygen can cause an explosion and fire which can spread to gas pockets beneath the seabed and obviously destroy the rig itself.

A group of us were specifically trained to prevent or mitigate the effects of such a disaster.

We were the Marine Underwater Fire Fighting divers.

In various companies I have worked in, it was commonplace to refer to someone, in documentation, by their initials and department initials.

I have mostly worked in Information Technology.
