Most excellent ballasting, but I'm alittle perplexed by the railhead wear pattern.

Cheers

Hi Tony,

Go on. I'm just as perplexed by your observation.

If I guess correctly, be mindful I'm still working on the track so have yet to clean it.

Sorry Rob, It was a slightly off the wall comment.

In the last pic there were sections of the railhead which are strongly rusted, giving way, abruptly,

to a highly polished section. I know it was 'cos it's a work in progress, it just struck me like that at

the time. (Quite odd really, I normally only see the overall picture).

Incidentally,  can you remind  us (Me) which Lack units you use? I have just had a quick look

and come up with a numbers of sizes / prices. In my defense< I should point out that I have never,

as yet, had any dealings with Ikea. In principle, ever since they built their Bristol monstrosity, on

Eastville Stadium, home of so many memories of youth.

All the best

TONY

Today, I've added ash to the yard areas.

It will have gone one of two ways......

A. Success.

B. I've made a horse's ar$e of it.

I say the latter as I have changed how I apply and glue the ash down. I know, I know but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Photos will follow but if it has worked then that's two thirds of the basic ground cover completed. Just the 2mm base layer of static grass to add to the (funnily enough) grassy areas.

“Ghastly,” continued Marvin, “it all is. Absolutely ghastly. Just don't even talk about it. Look at this door,” he said, stepping through it. The irony circuits cut into his voice modulator as he mimicked the style of the sales brochure. “All the doors in this spaceship have a cheerful and sunny disposition. It is their pleasure to open for you, and their satisfaction to close again with the knowledge of a job well done.”

As the door closed behind them it became apparent that it did indeed have a satisfied sigh-like quality to it. “Hummmmmmmyummmmmmm ah!” it said.

Very impressive sliding door. Makes it look easy. Done using an Arduino?

Nope, a completely new system being launched at Model Rail Scotland by Scale Model Scenery.

I've been testing it and have built the demonstration layout.

Sorry, I can't say much more yet.

But I will be removing the Cobalts from Trelothen and using this system instead.

(Rob, sorry for the hijack).

See here for more tasters.
