In April 1983 Mum and Dad went to Paris to stay with some friends, naturally Dad found time to take some railway photos, which I will put on here from time to time.

Today we have some from the  Gare de Lyon.

Interesting to see two Maurienne (green) liveried CC6500s in J7905 and J7911, rather than the more common TEE liveried ones.

Trams at Igls today.    Igls terminus has a reversing loop.

Igls is the terminus of one of the routes from Innsbruck.

Looks like those trams are single ended as there was a loop at each end of the route.

I also noticed no wipers at one end!

Nice photos as always

Cheers

Keith

Edit

They now use Flexity trams and the route does not seem to have a loop at the city end

ÖBB 1063 and 4020 are available from Jägerndorfer, while the 1145 was available from Roco at the time. All in H0 scale.

The 1145 is the one class within the family that Roco have not produced, they have done the similar 1045 and 1245. Other manufacturers, such as Liliput and Rivarossi have done versions of the 1245s.

Similarly, Roco have made the other two classes within that sequence - the 1110s and 2043s.

Munich has several types of single-ended trams, but they have a small control desk hidden behind a locked panel at the rear so the driver can drive from that end when needed. I saw it happen once when a broken down tram meant our tram had to reverse over a crossover and then overtake the broken down tram on the other line.

The trams look like Duewag GT8Z and yes, they were built as "Einrichtungs - Gelenktriebwagen" so for single direction traffic.

I have seen the new ones in service a few years (2012) ago, but do not remember if they are single direction or not.

Google maps shows the return loop after the Igls station.

I believe the 6 route from Igls to Innsbruck originally ran around the city centre loop but the current map shows it terminating at Bergisel to connect with route 1 to/from the city centre.

Both routes 1 & 3 have loops each end but the Igls route now seems to terminate at a straight line in Klostergasse in route 1's return loop:

C11411 - interestingly shaped capital I on Isolatoren, looking for all the world like a J to an English speaker.

Compare this sample of German handwriting: https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Datei:Ausgangsschrift_der_DDR_1958.png

and other Sütterlin-type handwriting samples.

Looking at the very similar DIN 1451 narrow font, I wonder if the signmaker used a J by mistake, based on their own handwriting?

Edit: correct spelling with an "I" photographed here: https://gnadlib.wordpress.com/2017/08/03/warnung/

and another "J" spelling for sale here: http://www.email-schild.ch/verkauf_email.php?seite=8

("email" being German for "enamel")

Superb, from back in the days before everything was boring TGVs. Can't say I like the look of the 9200/9300/16000/25200 family though - I'm more of a Nez-cassé fan.

Nice to see more SNCF trains. Are you sure you've recorded the two trains Calais/Boulogne the correct way round? The train on the left has a carriage board marked Amiens-Boulogne.

They are dad's photos, I just took the details from his notes, they could well be the wrong way round.
