Well I think we've got there, most of the the repairs and additions have been previously described.  I've also added beading around the tank and bunker top, rounded off the front corners of the tanks to make them look more Hunslet, and repainted and relined this side.

Theres still more that needs to be done, cab roof is looking a bit dodgy, and now the other side needs repainting.  I keep seeing areas where an extra smear of paint is needed, and of course some weathering.

But she looks a bit more presentable now.

That's really splendid Dave and, dare I say it, a dramatic improvement in its 'Hunslet-ness'. All the key Hunslet styling elements are present (though the shape of the cab cut out and the chimney were there already, if course).

I'm looking forward to seeing it, and the layout, next week.

All true, and yet, perhaps more importantly, it is also instantly, recognisably, Boadicea

Just for comparison, this is what it used to look like:

Hmmm, not that different really...

I want to carry on and do more to it now, but that will have to wait until after Eurotrack next weekend.

Cheers, Dave.

Boadicea is back in the works.  The patch repair on the bufferbeams hasn't held, so she is being fitted with a completely new pair, back and front.

Also a new set of name, number and worksplates have arrived from Narrow Planet, and will be fitted at the same time.

Photos will follow,

Dave.

Boadicea shows off her new set of plates from Narrow Planet, outside the shed at Charmouth.

Not quite sure about the positioning yet, but certainly the new smaller nameplates are an improvement.

The over-large originals came from Peter Thatcher Nameplates many years ago, from his "Freelance" set; and I think they might have been nearer 16mm scale.

Cheers, Dave.

Another vehicle that's been through the shops for a bit of TLC and tidying up recently is the MVR's bogie brake-composite.  Originally built from the  Roxey Mouldings etched brass kit for the Manx Northern Railway's "Foxdale" coach, its paintwork had suffered from poor preparation.  So its had a good clean up and a partial repaint, plus a new set of footboards so it actually clears the platform at Charmouth.

Blimey, these close-up photos don't arf show the dust....

Correct me if I'm wrong Dave, but your coaches are in different liveries on each side are they? Double the amount of stock you have without buying any more coaches. Simples.

Quite so!  simple way of doubling the stock, and giving you different periods.

Cheers, Dave.
