blueeighties
Loving the 7mm stuff Lee, How did you do the headcode dots on 45036 I need to do that on mine. Cheers Peter. Hi Peter. I applied the white domino dot to the reverse of the glass marker panel. Then sprayed over black a few times. Before the black has dried, carefully remove it from said domino dots with a fine cotton bud and thinners, (I use the Tamiya fine point ones). You can then user them as is, but the sprayed black is not very dense, which results in a bit off see through form the led's. However, reduce their brightness via the dcc setings and this can look very realistic...as we all know some of the older glass panels were quite transparent to light loss anyways. To increase the density of the black without using the dots just hand paint around them. Hope that helps

RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted August 16, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 16, 2017 Fantastic Lee. I have said it before but the Hornby 56 is a cracking model especially when enhanced with Shawplan bits and bobs. Lovely weathering.

blueeighties
A nice rather large Heljan 0 gauge 40 completed today. A complete respray, soundfitted too. Done as one of the Crewe departmentals, 97408. Strangely, pictures from the time show the yellow ends as repainted. So have kept these as they were 97408 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 97408a by rothburyuk, on Flickr 97408b by rothburyuk, on Flickr 97408d by rothburyuk, on Flickr 97408e by rothburyuk, on Flickr 97408f by rothburyuk, on Flickr And then back to 00, a Heljan baby Deltic. Weathered and soundfitted. And yes, it's awaiting a repalacement windscreen wiper from Howes. bd by rothburyuk, on Flickr bd1 by rothburyuk, on Flickr bd2 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Something a bit different.... d45oc by rothburyuk, on Flickr d450 by rothburyuk, on Flickr d450a by rothburyuk, on Flickr EWS 66 and 67 undergoing reworking. Renumbering on these is a real pain because of the deep bodyside ribs. Gold banding gets repainted after number removal, and then copious amounts of Micro-Sol applied many times to get the new ones to settle properly. ews by rothburyuk, on Flickr

blueeighties
My workshop is always fairly busy, and as most of you know, I'm pretty OCD, everything has it's place etc etc. With so much going on, every spare bit of bench and shelf space had chassis, bodies (locos of course!), bogies, soundchips, detailing parts everywhere. All getting a bit out of hand and messy. So I took a few hours this morning to alter some shelf spacings, and get everything back into order. It's surprising just how much 7mm work is coming in these days, and it's obviously a lot more demanding of storage space. If you have work in with me, it will be within this lot somewhere..... 003 by rothburyuk, on Flickr A few of this weeks new arrivals. 009 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 013 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 015 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Just about ready for weathering, a pair of reworked Heljan 7mm 26s. 038 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 034 by rothburyuk, on Flickr This is a bit tasty, Golden Age Pullman coach. 025 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 028 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 022 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 032 by rothburyuk, on Flickr

dj_crisp
Cheers Lee! That 40's not controversial with me as it looks stunning!! I'm impressed with the replica transfers you've applied. I've has mixed results with them - a set of Transrail rub downs were excellent whereas a set of construction waterslides were terrible as the printing was a right mess. cheers Will
