Peter Kazmierczak
66542 at Southampton Maritime last Sunday. Sorry a Class 70 got into the picture too..... Boat spotters will notice "Ventura" behind the Cl.66s train, with "Celebrity Eclipse" berthed at right angles on the right background. "Harmony of the Sea" can just be glimpsed behind "Ventura". Also different light clusters and "double" air pipes - I think only 66750/751 have this arrangement. Cheers, Mick

Richard Pike
Sun in the wrong place, but had to rush out to catch this due to running early, only to sit and wait due to the loco being held for a unit to pass. 66743 in its new Royal Scotsman livery, running as 0E66 Eastleigh - Doncaster Roberts Road, seen at Morton.

Steadfast
Some of the GB locos are a very different shade to some others. 66731 was one of the earliest in Europort, done at Brush. Very orangey orange and a nice rich bright blue. Several were done at Eastleigh around this period and use a very sandy shade of orange and the blue is a lot murkier. The 20s, done at Barrow Hill from memory, feature the same flatter shades. The new build stuff and later Eastleigh repaints bring even more variations to the ex works shade! Here's new build and the sandy, washed out shade from Eastleigh Jo

Michael Delamar
Eastleigh last Sunday.DSCN0812.JPGNote the rectangular buffers fitted to 66750. They're also longer and a pain to tie the coupling on or off, on a curve you've no chance.

Peter Kazmierczak
Running about 20mins late, yesterday's 15.48 Lawley Street - Southampton MCT approaches Eastleigh behind 66570. The train will stop in the station for a crew change - a different driver usually works the final leg of the journey from Eastleigh to Southampton. Alcanman
Whilst looking for a suitable local location to photgraph 'Flying Scotsman' due along the Blyth & Tyne on Saturday, 11th June, a five minute walk from home brought me to this spot. (An earlier check on Realtime trains had revealed that GBRf 4N68 Tyne Coal Terminal - North Blyth (Battleship Wharf Coal Termina) was due around 2.15pm) 66769 in charge , Newsham

Peter Kazmierczak
Anyone know which Colas Class 66 this is? Pity they don't put the number on the front..... The Class 66 was on yesterday's 14.05 Hurst Green - Eastleigh departmental. It was really bombing along - 5 early at Woking and 20 early at Fleet - and I missed the number.
