Okay, first wave of thunderstorms past but second is due about lunch time, missed us by a mile though the rain was like stair rods for a few hours, flooded roads about here and me nylon pants are electric....

Waiting on the forecast thunder storm and torrential rain, computer's being shut down along with the fragile modem that shuts down at the least wee spike. All hatches battened down for the mother of all storms according to the weather girl....

Just back from a funeral of an old family friend, it was a joyous celebration of Charlie Izzett's life. He lived life to the full and always had a joke for everyone and never put anyone down. You lot didn't know him but more than a few in East Kilbride would have as Charlie was the local rep for the Pearl assurance Society and later the 'man from the Pru'.

His youngest daughter gave a wonderful and funny eulogy but I didn't realise it was the same lass who was the little flower girl at our wedding and the 'do' today was in the same hotel and the same room where Fiona and I meet at a folk club 37 years ago.
All the best Charlie and we'll all raise a glass tonight...

Used my new travel card today and got into Glasgow for £1.30 whereas my much younger other half paid £3.50. Way hey! Notice I didn't say an 'over sixties' travel card... Oh buxxer.

Made up another 25 way jumber cable for Wharfeside last night, that's fifty pins tinned then fifty wires soldered on or in, might do another cable next week....Yawn.

Well it had to happen... Took the winter tyres off her Touran last week and it's snowing here now.... Unbelievable.

Well, the Jetta failed the MOT didn't it.... Front spring broken right at the end, didn't see it and didn't feel it but I know when it happened, Blxxdy pot holes in Glasgow a few weeks ago. Jetta has passed everything else though including the emissions.

Just upgraded to 'Firefox for AOL', seems to work much better than the out of date Internet Explorer but then that wouldn't be hard nowadays.
