  1. With a house move now on the cards over the coming months I'll have to wait a while til I finally get some proper work done on the loft layout. Thankfully the house we're planning to move to also has a converted loft, properly done and larger than the current place, so more space for the layout :-) So meanwhile what's there to do except play trains and test out the lovely Stanier Mogul acquired lately from Track Shack at a decent price. What a smashing loco, amazing valve gear, so intricate. Anyhow, with the house to myself for a couple of hours it's time to indulge a little with a running session... All the best, Keith
  2. Indeed, I do wonder about a matching single, if not Cornwall then another possibility is the lovely Midland Railway 673. Would go nicely with the forthcoming Bachmann Midland 1P tank... Cheers, Keith
  3. Proper photos of the LNWR version on Hatton's now. Looking good. Cheers, Keith
  4. Just one? Fingers crossed it's Cornwall, another single to match with the GNR one... That'd be nice. All the best, Keith

  10. that's good to hear, thanks - I see the LMS liveried loco is due May according to Hatton's: http://www.hattons.co.uk/86889/Bachmann_Branchline_35_051_LNWR_0_6_2T_Webb_Coal_tank_7841_in_LMS_black/StockDetail.aspx just a bit longer to wait for that one. cheers, Keith
  11. Blimey, with all this angst no wonder the roads are such a dangerous place!

  14. I got this email from Hatton's this afternoon Hornby have shown further images of the forthcoming SECR H Class model and these have been added to our listings below. www.hattons.co.uk/hclass Cheers, Keith
  15. LMS liveried loco now available at Track Shack for £118.99, including next day delivery. Two left as I've just bought one :-) Cheers, Keith
  16. This looks terrific, great pics, love the seventh one down, I thought it was the real thing! Superb weathering. Thanks for posting. Cheers, Keith
  17. It was about a thousand before the Hornby Peckett arrived... Cheers, Keith 474 and counting
  18. A new book of b/w images of the good old days of BR around the regions from Andy Sparks, very evocative 1970s and early 1980s photographs accompanied by thoughtful and personalised descriptions of the depicted scenes. Just published at £19.95 - I bought mine from the Class Forty Preservation Society, to help a good cause - http://www.cfps.co.uk/sales.htm - signed by the author too! The CFPS need the dosh - including funds to get upcoming work done on 40145 to keep her on the mainline. cheers, Keith
  19. This sounds great, I'll look forward to seeing developments. I had a go at creating a vague impression of Eskdale and the 3 foot Ratty in 5.5mm scale, got as far as building this from coffee stirrers and bit and bobs: cheers, Keith
  20. I agree Steve, I've a fair few Heljan diesels in 00 and happy with all of them, the record for steam however is not quite as rosy, but let's hope all's well with the little locos! Cheers, Keith
  21. Let's hope this also isn't the case for the Heljan 009 locos... http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/89864-Heljan-gwr-1366-0-6-0-pannier-tank/?p=2614860 http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/89864-Heljan-gwr-1366-0-6-0-pannier-tank/?p=2629080 Fingers crossed. Cheers, Keith
  22. Very nice contours, and the slot in bridge looks good too, is it a Wills kit or something? Cheers, Keith
  23. The RRP has not changed for this model, what has (just) changed is the retailers decision (in most cases) to price at RRP! all the best, Keith
  24. Looking around at other retailers this rrp price seems to be the going rate, the discounted prices being offered have disappeared. Good for the retailers if they can shift the stock at that price but unfortunately for me it's a stretch too far :-( Oh well, lots of new other goodies coming soon that have now become a little more affordable as a result of reallocating the £145 I had earmarked for the L&B loco! Cheers, Keith
  25. more time for me to try and get some track down... dithering whether to go for a 4 by 1 terminus-type set-up, or try and cram in a continuous run into a 4 by 2... either way, I need to get cracking! cheers, Keith
