  1. Tony, if you happen to have another one spare after Pete, please do let me know, I’m in the same situation! cheers, Andrew
  2. don’t disagree with any of this. Isn’t the bigger problem the availability in any livery?
  3. C&M in Carlisle have both available at £144. Got Destroyer on its way!
  4. Just chipped in the balance. Never seen the coach and now inspiration to pay a visit when lockdown is over, but moreover what a great example if perseverance and all the best with the work.
  5. So, I think in terms of numbers not modelled, we have: 50001 50003 50005 50006 first in refurbished blue 50009 50012 50014 50016 50017 LMS crimson?! 50019 Laira DCE blue? 50022 50023 - some good options here I think - ghost white, large logo blue but with small logos? 50025 50026 early NSE with black window surrounds 50028 50029 50030 50032 50034 50036 50038 50039 50040 50041 50042 50043 50044 BR two tone green as preserved?! 50047 if duplicating, preservation era Loadhaul and Intercity considering it’s been around for the best part of 20 years, that means that including limited editions (but excluding some duplicates e.g. 50007 about three times, 50037 etc), that’s an average of about 1 per year. 30 years to get through the class!
  6. Not sure on what it is, but I love the shunt function on it!!
  7. Got mine today - very fast service. Be aware, the one I received isn’t just damp, it’s very wet - even the model inside is wet. The outer box just crumpled on opening and the inner boxes may not survive - they are covered in black mould (had to wash my hands twice to remove after touching!). still a bargain, but thought it worth sharing the experience to avoid any surprise!
  8. A photographic grey A4 would be great (and I think real!)
  9. Great to hear the progress. @AY ModI don’t suppose there was any update on anything of earlier years that is still due? I’m not sure if there is much left on any such list, but the one I’ve been after is the Merchant Navy on blue. I assume for that one, as a further batch have been announced, that this might arrive at the same time?
  10. Please do include Strathclyde!
  11. A rather terrible year for the world yes, but a rather good year for Hornby, and this is rather understated...
  12. Spotted this but didn’t want to post in case also dud... so I ordered one and while it’s not here, it is at least showing as shipped: large logo 56 with legomanbiffo sound for 245 https://www.dckits-devideos.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=111 PS it arrived!

    2021 hopes

It would be nice to see the detailed class 31 and 60 tools sweated a little (more the former than the latter), with some batch liveries like Heljan have done with their 33. lots of liveries on the Limby 47? would like a First blue barbie HST set but will need the coaches too as I sold mine waiting for the locos to be produced!
  14. This isn’t just an issue for this coach. Tried to get the Beatles Eurostar extra coaches and it seems most retailers were sent short - some quite vocal about the situation given I was an unknown customer!
  15. I ordered a few on Friday afternoon (amongst other items) and nothing shipped yet - I guess that’s not looking positive now!
  16. while I don’t disagree with this, it probably reinforces my point about timing. I have several Accurascale wagons, and they are lovely, but they have not yet brought any British locos to market, so the threat, while very real, is not here yet. When they start delivering (and I look forward to it), then they may start influencing the wider market prices.
  17. I’d debate that it hasn’t worked yet. The Heljan 47 isn’t imminent, so Bachmann don’t need to put prices down at the moment. And now that Heljan have revealed their hand, neither will they. The recent examples of class 66 and 45 show a different behaviour. And with the former, Hornby flooding multiple versions (yes of a different standard) also impacted. If enough people (and who knows what quantity that is on these runs) decide that this price level is not for them, then no company (retailers or manufacturers) will want stock hanging around. There is a risk that it’s then a race to the bottom on price which will be good for nobody (we’ve been there before).
  18. I have a record of 8,194 passenger carrying and 3,009 non passenger carrying, excluding any wagons built to coaching stock lots, excluding any built for multiple units etc, but including mk1 pullmans. I’d be interested if this tallies to others!
  19. I’m sure that this may not be universally agreed with, but this discussion sounds like evidence of why, prima facie, competition is a good thing for consumers... maybe people will consider this the next time there is duplication of a particular model?
  20. And with just under a week to go until transfer deadline day, what other big name signings are on the cards?!
  21. certainly not aimed at Max’s situation, but being on that type of track more regularly might make those around him a little more cautious as they saw the consequence through the field! Having said that, Max himself hasn’t been averse to cutting the track before, where tarmac has allowed!
  22. What a superb old school track. Bring back the gravel traps more widely and let’s see the skill in keeping it on the tarmac.
  23. I guess that all depends on what is underneath the paint. Presumably not a silver/ steel colour or why paint?
