  1. While we're on the subject of things to do with a Lima 3F/4F, I picked this up at a show, it's 7mm
  2. Have you considered offering them in 7mm?
  3. I think we're all suffering from that sort of situation since Xmas!
  4. When you type it in, it doesn't work, if you click on the bottom link (My website about GWR built Coaches) it works, but the middle link (My website about Penrhos) doesn't
  5. The web address is wrong, the g is missing, it should be - gwrcoaches.org.uk -
  6. I will not be able to attend, unfortunately, but I will be thinking of him. I was introduced to Chris by Alan West, on one of his regular visits to Alan's place, where he worked on his fine scale layout (co-owned with Timara Easter) and housed in Alan's shed. It was always a pleasure to meet Chris at various events, where we we would catch up on various subjects, I'll miss his knowledge and his outlook on life.
  7. I should have been on this earlier, as a long time friend of his. I met Alan at the Stevenage & District MRC, he was a friendly and helpful member, always willing to share his extensive knowledge of railways, especially the LNER, and it's constituents. Although he was equally passionate and knowledgeable about trolleybuses, his canal boat (which I worked on for him) and beer! He will be greatly missed by all our members, we'll have to make our own tea and coffee now, he loved doing it so much, we sometimes had to remind him to run his locos he'd brought to the club!
  8. Well, that's a relief then! 🤔😱😂😇
  9. I believe there was a class of Scottish shunting locos, called Yorkies
  10. I believe that the 3rd type is actually called the Kirby (invented/developed by Brian Kirby)
  11. I've cried everytime we've lost one of our cats, 6 over the last 30 years, it's never easy, it never will be.
  12. Aldi do a very nice Plum Porter, and also a Sticky Toffee Ale, both very nice!
  13. We used to have a breadmaker, we made bread because my eldest had dairy triggered ADHD. So to get away from the use of milk in the shop bought bread, we made our own, we used olive oil in place of the butter, it made a lovely, soft loaf, which lasted much longer than usual, because there was no butter to go off. I highly recommend you try it!
  14. Another thing that i thought, although its a bit late now, is, I would have finished the fixed boards at an angle (right angle to the track), then you could have added hinges and had the board swing into the room, no lifting, or alignment, or storage problems, that you might have with a separate section. I've done this for a friend and it's worked well, and reliably, for the last ten years.
  15. Are you going to make the lift-out section fit with the door open or shut, because if it only fits with the door shut, I would be very concerned about being trapped if you had an accident, or medical issue. If it fits with the door open, then you still have option of crawling out under it, if you can't remove the section
  16. I've sent a tweet about this as well.
  17. It sounds like the float is just touching the side of the cistern, on the FluidMaster bottom entry float valve, the float is around the vertical shaft (which is height adjustable) but is asymmetrical, so rotating the whole assembly on the shaft, should give you the clearance.
  18. And that's your story, and you're sticking to it! 🤣
  19. Although correct, the comment, I think, was more about blocking the view of seeing someone using the crossing
  20. It might be worth checking the Channel 5 website for the Great Model Railway Challenge, which was aired in 2018/9 I think, that should give you some good ideas, and insights into how things could be done, and you'll see a couple of my mates, and fellow cub members!
  21. I hope you mean you mislaid it, not that they took it away!
  22. Or maybe a waterproof cement render on the outside?
  23. A Russian wife turned to her husband and asked, "What's this special military operation our glorious leader keeps talking about?" Her husband replied, "It's a proxy war between Russia and NATO." "Oh, right. How's it going?" "Well," he replied, "so far we've lost 24,000 soldiers, 2,000 tanks, 200 aircraft, numerous helicopters, and loads of armoured vehicles and artillery pieces, and our flagship, along with various other naval pieces." "Wow, what about NATO?" "They haven't turned up yet!"
