  1. The Dapol LMS coaches are D1905/D1925 designs.

In that case I don't think that's what we are after as the Comet info tells me these were used on the Coronation Scot and London/Wolverhampton services. However we might be able to use correct Comet sides on the Dapol body if I can get a cheap model somewhere and also the diagrams used.

  2. Rob the layout looks deserted every thing else tucked up for winter?

Why is the Kings coupling up on the footplate or is that a new trend?

Well spotted sir.I hadn't noticed the coupling riding up there but I have noticed that we've started a new page. The third in less than a week. :O

Some of my stock is tucked up but I'm planning on adding three links to my tankers as I've already said.Is there a difference in Smiths couplings.I bought a packet called Roger Smith but the ones on the Scalelink site state Smiths manfactured by W & T Birmingham. Are they the same product.

  3. Well it's a dull overcast day in the South Hams as King class 6015 'King Richard 3rd' passes through Brent with an up cross country express.

Now as many of you know,I'm well short in the coaching stock department. However, Mallard60022 of this parish has kindly lent me his recent ebay purchase to run.We both want to model the Plymouth-Crewe/Liverpool/Manchester cross country service. His Comet H25 was the restaurant coach used alternatively with a LMS type on this service and Phil was 'lucky' enough to win this recently. It is currently in blood and custard, however it might be changed into choc/cream at a later date.We thought you might like to see it even though I have Great Western liveried coaches I do think they look good together.A very nice well made kit too.

If anyone else would like to contribute towards this train it would be most welcome and I would be very grateful and honoured.  ;) We still need some LMS coaches.

    More soon.

  4. There's a photo of that in the Pack Horse Inn going through Brent aimed at Trago Mills Stover! :D

The Finching sisters would be well impressed with it's girth. What you got against TM Mark as it's a good day out for the family there. ;)

    1350 tonnes

It would definitely strike my overbridge.

Heres a link to one built from that kit of T & A 's.  http://www.amazon.com/Hobby-Boss-Railway-Vehicle-Building/dp/B0040QD2SM

  5. A couple of snaps showing the newly planted bracket signal controlling entry to either the platform (main) or loop.

If the prairie is waiting for the signal to come off, it will be waiting a long time...both arms are fixed as I managed to break both of the plastic rods on the back of the arms when assembling it.

A nice scene Jules but sorry to be pedantic but red headlamps were replaced by white from 1936 and a loco in GWR livery wouldn't have had them.My thread gets picked over by those discerning chaps too.Love the 45xx.

  6. Ok, here goes, my most recent British armour (to keep it a little bit on topic):

just to pass the time until the weekend.

    Fantastic work there T & A

Rob,perhaps a three year step back in history is needed and a visit from General Eisenhower will give you the perfect excuse to build Comet's VIP Saloon and a Super Saloon. The Super Saloon could also be used in your planned "Ocean Liner" train.

On the other hand a cheaper alternative might be to obtain a "Montgomery" figure and have him standing on the platform at Brent after buying a day return from Kingsbridge because he was bored walking round Kingsbridge every day.

Only joking but, as I'm sure you will already be aware, there are a few pages - pp98-101 in "The Kingsbridge Branch" (Ken Williams and Dermot Reynolds OPC)

giving details of some very interesting workings in April and May 1944, with LMS coaches featuring and Monty's LNER 7 coach rake, not to mention some interesting mixed trains.

Yes I know and had looked at those super saloons before but then remembered how hard those centenaries were I built. ;)

    Why are we waiting........?

    P

Because I'm a tease and some of us have to work you know. :jester:

  7. I think you'll find they have been Photoshopped in....

I think Andy should have photoshopped you into that photo above.I have just the photo he could use...

Good luck with showing it [bCB] at the weekend lads.Great team work.

  8. A sherman firefly IC composite of the British 11th Armoured Division, 23rd Hussars  Armoured Regt, scratchbuilt by myself. It's  loaded on a NE rectank, found on Ebay. I added some details and did some weathering.

Excellent. You're welcome to post some photos of it on here for us mere mortals to salivate over it.It looks the business to me.I'm sure,no I know , the US army would have used the Kingsbridge branch in the run up to D Day.
