  1. Rule of thumb (alas not always right) for GW stock is three links on unfitted wagons, and instanters on fitted unless they are passenger rated.  But always best to look at pics as that is very much rule of thumb and my thumbs aren't at all straight ;).

Thanks as always for that Mike. Both types were used on Esso wagons looking at  Pauls website.

I love his coaches but most are way out of my buying range.

Not one of the lucky buyers I afraid. They went for good prices too and even his Comet sides went for the same price as from Comet themselves.I could have used them too.The Slaters toplight sold for twice the price of the Mallard version incidently.

  2. 93xx?

    Spot on

Is it 9319? Have we seen this loco since April? I was wondering if this loco is one of the "winter" locos re-introduced in anticipation of a harsh winter round Coventry way (see # 1580 above).

Yes.and not really.I just like the shot and may do the same with my 7200 before it's packed away. The Bachmann 93xx looks ok from 6 feet away. ;) One of my first ever purchases.

  3.

My real problem is where to go for "fun" football in future as Hinckley were the "second" team in Leicestershire after LCFC. I suppose I could try neighbouring Barwell but I may need a stab vest for night matches.

Try watching Nuneaton Boro. They're going well at the moment.Just up the A5.

  4. At 11.15 a.m. on Monday October 7, 2013 my "local" club Hinckley United FC ceased to exist after a High Court judge in Birmingham issued a winding up order against the club.

Still if Coventry need "home" ground later in the season, when Northampton's pitch gets worn, there is one available padlocks permitting.

Sorry to hear that and I didn't see anything in our local paper on this. Our 'mess' is still ongoing.

  5. Have a look at his layout. A shame it has been broken up: http://www.flickr.com/photos/petelmrg/8416560709/in/photostream/  and further

Yes its the layout that signal box is from as it's the same guy. He's selling all his stock from it.Coaches galore. ;)

    Stop modelling, start singing...

Trust me.I'm a better modeller than singer that's for sure.

  6.

Where are all those 'Dobbins' off too? Has Colonel Reynolds organised a major gathering for the South Devon Hunt?

    Cheers,

    Mark

The horseboxes are empty as the Kingsbridge farmer who bought the new Fordson tractor earlier in the year has bought a couple of yearlings from a stud farm near Lambourn,Oxfordshire.Perhaps.

$(KGrHqZ,!qQFI1mgMK4(BST)IhmhBw~~60_12.JGo on Rob you know you need it!

A snip at £231 (at the moment!)

    P

Yes I did see it and I know what a scratchbuilt model costs to commission. So I'm not surprised at the price at all. It's got an interior too. ;)

  7. Will deny any such thing in public. Would loose face....  :swoon:

    (See what happened to Hornby)

Sometimes in life you have to own up to such matters.A bit like swmbo telling me she was a fan of Rick Astley.

    Back on topic.

I waited since lunch time for a train from Kingsbridge. The signalman tells me the server was down at Gara Bridge all afternoon but eventually 5525 arrives with a pair of horseboxes.

  8. I thought this morning I'd take some photos, not ideal with the sun streaming in through the window of some detail without trains in it.

So here are a few views of looking up to the overbridge from the cattle dock. This was built from the Ratio kit again long before I planned Brent and is as such incorrect in the style used at the station. It does for me though.Another compromise, due to lack of foresight, was the drainage channels being placed over pointwork.Overall though, not too bad.

I've decided to fit some screw link couplings to this rake using Smiths LP8 unassembled type. http://www.scalelink.co.uk/acatalog/Smiths_couplings_for__OO_.html A new improved version is available with a detailed centre for anyone interested.[WTPL8-A]

A job for the winter nights.
