I can't believe how quiet it's gone on here this week.I hoping to change that by the weekend. No clues

If you truly paid in Sovereigns, Rob, you are clearly a man of substance, who has no need of the interest!
Been watching old episodes of Minder with the great George Cole character of Arfur Daley.

Having been told by Steam that they were possibly expecting it to arrive before D1000 back at the turn of the year I retain the simplistic view that it will be here when it arrives and not before. Steam are simply putting their best interpretation (with probably a hint of caution?) on what they are being told by Hornby. Only sort of meaningful piece of past information from SK was that it was originally planned to airfreight the 'Stars' in for the Steam exhibition - looking on the bright side that might now translate as 'airfreight them in time for the Warley show, or maybe for Christmas. Our hopes might not be forlorn but I still doubt they'll get them here any sooner.
When I paid in January, Geoff Davies told me a February release was imminent so maybe he'll be right after all.Can I claim a years interest on my sovs.

Are they loco guards your'e using there for storage ?

You got me all excited there Rob - sadly most of the Hattons Spams are Merchant Navy types - I prefer the baby Spams in original Airsmoothed casing.
All the same to me old fruit.

Were your ears burning earlier Chris http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/76223-hattons-preowned/&do=findComment&comment=1191202

Has "too many spams" of this parish had a clear out do you think??
I doubt it very much but his eyes will light up on seeing all those beasts up for grabs.

Fabulous work there Stuart.Proper colours too on the box.

A little bird tells me this stunning masterpiece is in next months BRM.Will the article contain this threads banter too I wonder.Looking forward to seeing it in print.

I belong to a model railway club in Maryland and I have been building Harry Potter themed modules beginning with Hogwarts Castle. It is built to US HO module spec's as a pair of 48" corner modules. The castle is entirely scratch-built.
I also modeled Hogsmeade Station as a pair of 48 inch by 24 inch modules. I used a mix of Skaledale and Bachmannn 00 scale structures based on Goathland Station - with some small modifications.

...and back to the model
Below is a YouTube video - click the image:
Nice touch having some Dementors attacking the train and was that Aragog I saw too in the background ? Nice.

Just over 2000 gate when it would have been 12-15000 at the Ricoh.I think the away fan effect is correct but hopefully we won't get that many every week.Would be in the play off mix if not for a points deduction.
-
my guess for the Castle is 7038 The Bengali 5th Foot & Mouth Infantry Brigade
With a Hawksworth tender of course ,please.
-
D'you reckon he's going to name one after this - goodness gracious me
Only if they were used on the east coast mainline. This thread gets put in a plethora of different places. It's just like Diesels in the Duchy here.
-
Er yes, but which country would that be - China, England, or Somalia?
None of them. It was India. He actually told me it was him that selects what GWR name that Hornby model [Castle,Star,Grange & Hall] and stands by his choice of Wellington with the Hawksworth tender. He bluntly said he don't care for those who rename etc as long it's a right combination at a moment in time for an initial purchase.

That's a nice looking vehicle though, is that straight out of the box Rob?
I believe your boys are on sky later, think I got the right team this time, lets hope the fame doesn't go to their heads and they blunt the blades
I've added the pipes on the end and some on the roof between the vents similar in style to a bloater vehicle.A bit of weathering.I might fit some screw links over the winter.
PUSB. Wheres the crowd ?
Talking to Simon Kohler today and he tells me the Stars are in the country ! Ready for despatch.

Nope. Finchings need something to sniff as it whizzes past filling Brent with the aroma of roast and champers.

Well I've now had time to digest this news and you've made an inspired choice in ebay purchase. It will be an honour to run it.According to the Comet blurb the H25 was the restaurant coach used in the cross country service to Liverpool but more importantly to me was the fact it definitely received double lined choc/cream livery post war.
Comet photo. http://www.cometmodels.co.uk/modules/viewcatpic.php/8/639
Provided they are vacuum fitted etc then the answer is 'no'. Freight brakevans were only required behind the wagons on a mixed train, Fruit Ds were tail traffic.
So is that another photo I've got to retake then Mike.

One H25 57 Restaurant car ready to be 'loaned' to ANTB Rob. Up for that?
(Was the only one I 'won'!)
Phil
You taking the Michael young man ?

Is 7804 Baydon Manor on a "running-in" turn after some light repairs at Newton Abbot Factory as the load does not seem particularly challenging?
Yes and I have even seen photos of Kings with a b set in tow.
Would a coach with fruit vans need a toad brake van behind it?
I have photos of such trains on the Kingsbridge branch with a coach, van and brake so yes. My toad has a tail lamp but my fruit d doesn't so if I run without the toad I'd get castigated for no tail lamp on my train.I can't win.

Very nice Chris.Shame the 45xx is black though. Not going to disagree though.
-
I disagree about the length of the skirt - not the modelling standard
That's two nights running someone has disagreed with my post.
-
She's nice......
Her skirt is too short. Nice modelling though.

All quiet.....
...on the Western front.
A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.
