I think it was the late great Ronnie Barker who once said something along the lines of there's a difference between being the most popular and being the best.

Eventually yes but I have a shortage of GWR coaches first and foremost so they take priority.Having said that are the correct LMS coaches available rtr for my needs ?

unless you are Coventry City, but then even they fell through the trapdoor eventually.
I'd happily settle for those days again David if it meant we weren't in the state we are now.

It struck me as very permanent on the occasion I attempted to manoeuvre my arthritic knee through the duck-under
Quite right Mike but it wasn't planned to be that way as originally I was going to have a removeable section to make access easier. The boards were laid and the track joins were soldered onto copperclad strips.I never cut them as in the end I didn't mind the hop under.Being a youngster and the right side of 50 I thought it would be ok until I had 'elderly' visitors that is.

How did I miss this?
Just down the road and two of my favourite locos!
Never mind you might see a nice pannier at Bodmin next month.

That second photo of the disappearing train above is just brilliant!
I only took it because it had a tail lamp fitted.

You may laugh at this, but....any chance of a close-up shot of the scarecrow?
No problem my friend except everytime I try to take his photo for some reason he sings 'We're off to see the wizard...' I don't think he has a brain.
Photos now added but not brilliant I'm afraid. They're a Monty's figure from Dart Castings.
ps I've just asked him what he does if a bird craps on his head. His reply was 'I don't take her out again !'

Cracking job on the van Mark.Did you see Chris Nevards model here which shews the mouldings off to good effect.Look forward to your GWR version.I can't justify one I'm afraid.

I think it was the great Bob Paisley who said 'First is first and second is nowhere' as Roberto Mancini is about to find out.

Well thats nice to know and he's in exalted company using one of those.Norman would be proud.

Nice work Mark and I also like the MiniNatur products although not easily found. The ones you used are too big to be used in a puffer bottle so a static grass tool is needed.Never used Carrs leaves but they look the job.
What sort of camera does Jonty use ?

Well Kings were 'double red route' were they not!!
I'm wondering if I have an old Wills King out 'on loan' to Geoff?. Can't remember at the mo. It is in BR green and I think has a double chimney, but it was beautifully built (not by me) and was my first purchsae on flEbay.
Rob, if you want, ask Geoff if he does have this and if so, would he take it to Railex so you can 'borrow it'. It needs running as it's OO. I'd be proud to see it if this happens.
Quack.
That sounds like a good idea.
A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

Talking of Comet kitbuilt stock and I've retaken some photos of No 275 K42 full brake [1945 batch] in the cattle dock siding shewing both sides. Please be gentle as this was an early attempt at building.I have some more sides to do another inspired by Castle , Taz and others of this parish.Watch this space.
If you don't want to build the bogies for this kit you can always use a pair of Bachmann Collett bogies available as spares. These are the correct 9' pressed steel type.I'll be doing this on my next one.
